The decorative oars will always make this place have charm but the food - and even the mudslides - have become average. The sushi is pretty good but the other items on the menu are not as good as other restaurants on the island. We have been coming to the Oar for 15 years and have noticed the quality decline.... More

We have dined at the Oar on three different occasions and each time is has been delightful. We started with some appetizers. Great for the adults cause the kids won't touch calamari and some of the other treats we enjoyed. The food is great and the indoor-outdoor seating is awesome.

We drove here one night in an attempt to enjoy some sushi, as they advertise. The Oar was packed to the point where there was almost no parking. Additionally, there was a very long wait (30+ minutes for a table). The only way they communicate that your table is ready is by text message. How do the people who do... More

We have been to the oar for dinner anywhere between 25-30 times. We had Roberta as a server tonight and she gave us the best service we have ever had here! Quick, attentive, hardworking and personable. She made the experience extra great!

Very good food, very nice views of New Harbor. Another Justin Abram's Family owned establishment. All their establishments are well run, and offer a large degree of hospitality. Enjoy the experience......

Love this place and Kathleen makes a mean Mudslide! Sushi was ok but seafood is much better. All in all a must go to

We had dinner at the Oar. My husband had fried cod and I tried the Salmon dinner. It had a light cranberry sauce topping which was absolutely perfect! I wish I could have gotten the recipe for the topping. I would never have thought to add the cranberry on top but it was fantastic!

We were traveling with our dog, so were thrilled to know we could sit outside with him - where the view is spectacular. The menu is apparently different from inside, not sure in what way. We had low expectations, but wound up super-loving our meal. It was a simple lunch - we had salads made up as wraps. They were... More
