This is our second trip to BI and each trip consists of several stops at the Poor Peoples Pub, for lunch, dinner or just a few drinks. We visited in September, off season, and the Pub still had a bustling crowd. It is one of a few restaurants that is open year round on the island. The Pub easy to... More

After many trips to Block Island, my wife and I finally made it to the Poor People's Pub when we decided to stay overnight. Knowing we were in store for a late dinner, we opted for a late lunch late afternoon. The menu is small but diverse, with lots of great unhealthy options (and just a few healthy) that makes... More

Ww actually stopped here for lunch while exploring Block Island, based on Trip Advisor reviews. It was terrific. It wasn't busy since it was after Labor Day, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout. My husband had the mac and cheese with lobster and there was a ton of lobster claw meet in it. I had a sandwich that... More

What a surprise. You would never think to give this place a shot if you didn't know about it. The food is FANTASTIC!!! A real chef must run the kitchen and create the menu. Its like gourmet quality and tasting food in an un-pretentious setting. Doesn't have the ambience of The Spring House or even Eli's but the food is... More

Weather was beautiful when we were here so we were able to enjoy the outdoor seating. Was relatively busy but the food and service were both decent. Good pub food and beer. Is worth the walk from downtown and less pricey than other establishments. Would go back again.

We went for lunch after spending some time touring the Island. Prices were lower than the average but you pat for what you get. The hamburger patties were flat and not very flavorful. Equivalent to a frozen patties you buy at the supermarket. Beer was very reasonable. $3.00 for a Coors Light. The service was very good. The waitress was... More

Clam's Casino Pizza, Stuffed Eggplant, Cajun Shrimp Pasta and fresh Pollack over Fava Bean Puree. All of it delicious. If you are looking for great burger's and fries this is the spot, but look beyond the regular menu to the eclectic list of nightly specials. You will not be disappointed. The food here is fabulous!!

We were a group of ten who stayed on island for a week in August. During the high season, Poor People's can accommodate anyone in doors and out. We tried Winfield's, The Oar, Finn's and Ballard's and enjoyed them all for their uniqueness. The price for a mudslide is $8.00, compared to $9.50 elsewhere. The food and beer is priced... More

I had never visited this restaurant before and it was great. The food was awesome (must try the pulled pork sandwich). The drink were reasonable and the service was very good.
