This popular breakfast-only spot overlooks Old Harbor, and features great omelets, pancakes, and good coffee. Wait for a table out back, on the shaded deck overlooking the bustle of the ferry dock. Our server was able, the breakfast delicious, and the prices reasonable. We dine here at least once during each annual visit.

We happened to be up really early and our hotel did not start serving breakfast until 8 AM so we went for a walk and discovered Ernie's. We had a great early bird special - 2 eggs, toast and home fries for $3.99. Good basic breakfast food for a great price.

A great breakfast with friendly service and at a good price! Though very crowded, we did not feel rushed and the coffee just kept coming... a lovely way to start a day on Block Island.

Breakfast at Ernie's is served upstairs from Finn's, or you can enter at street level near the statue of Rebecca. This place has been here for decades. I loved my blueberry pancakes - just what I wanted. Others in my group ordered breakfast sandwiches and were very satisfied. Service was just okay. It was late in the season and summer... More

I believe Ernie’ is only open for breakfast. It was recommended by the desk clerk at the Harbor Side since their restaurant had closed for the season. (That’s a problem with visiting Block Island in the “shoulder” season”. Most restaurants are closed; those that aren’t are getting ready to close and offer a limited menu. Ernie’s opens at 7:00. When... More

I loved this place. I was on Block Island for two nights and the Front Desk Clerk of the Harborside Inn recommended Ernie's for breakfast. It was delicious; they have the best tasting pancakes I have ever had. Usually, pancakes are a vehicle for the butter and maple syrup, but these had their own flavor. One day I got the... More

Had breakfast there on the final day of our visit to Block Island. Fun atmosphere. Definitely local flavor. Staff and service was very good. Loved the food smell as we walked in. Hit the spot, although we prefer hash browns vs. the American fries. Cook wished us a good day as we left.

Had breakfast here twice while on our trip. Service was great and fast. Breakfast is reasonably priced and the omelets are really good. They have a early bird breakfast but I never got up early enough to go for that. Would go here for sure. Also, great view of the ferry's coming and going from the outside deck.

Seems "everyone knows your name" if you're a local. We weren't but got the same home style treatment as the regulars. Food was good, coffee hot and strong...what more do you need in the morning!
