Good find

We've visited Block Island many times (day trips and weekend stays) and will continue. This was our first visit to Winfield's and not our last. We arrived just after 6pm for dinner and were promptly greeted and seated. Ordered jalapeño polenta, sear scallops and grass fed sirloin (cooked rare) with... read more

First night on the island and had made a reservation for Winfield's based on trip advisor reviews. Nice little walk from the National Hotel. Very busy so I was glad we made a reservation. The table was ready so we sat and enjoyed. For an appetizer we had the scallops 2 big scallops with a delicious sauce cooked to perfection.... More

We knew this would be a great spot since every local we asked recommended it but we were blown away! The wild mushroom ravioli with pesto sauce was like an explosion of flavors!! Delicious!! It might be worthwhile to make reservations even in the fall since it was completely full when we went over Colombus Day weekend.

This restaurant is a great place for a more elegant kind of place to have dinner on the island. It is a place to dress up a little, and sit and enjoy a gourmet meal with wine. We started off with a salad of goat cheese with cranberries. Then for dinner I had the roast chicken and my husband had... More

For quality, good food and service--the only real game in town! We went 2 nights in a row. First night was so busy we ate at the bar--good choice...outstanding and poised service, Great espresso martini! Food was magnificent-although expensive--but this is Block Island. We centered on appetizers, (duck confit, cassoulet, salads...bread and whole head of roasted garlic--outstanding.) Second night --entrees... More

I loved the seafood. I had scallops for an appetizer and swordfish as a main course. The service was professional and friendly.

This was a mini-honeymoon trip to BI and Winfield's was top on our dining wish list. The restaurant lived up to our high expectations and we had a fantastic dining experience. Drinks at the bar were accompanied by friendly convo with some locals and then it was on to the dining room. As 2 women, restaurants often try to seat... More

This is probably the best meal I have ever eaten on Block Island. I ordered scallops and they melted in my mouth - yum. My friends raved about their swordfish entrees. The decor was dark wood, with white table cloths, and art of the walls. Similar to a large room in an antique house. Unfortunately, we were seated beside a... More

spent a week here in September, as the season was ending and folks were starting to disappear. The restaurant is charming, with attentive staff and pleasant fellow diners. Menu is well thought out, small, but creative. Wife had a mahi, which was delightful and I had the special, a house smoked brisket with chive mashed potatoes and a spinach/arugula combo.... More

We'd eaten at many of the restaurants on Block Island, but somehow we missed Winfield's. For one thing, it's a little bit of a walk from the center of the Old Harbor, with its cluster of hotels and restaurants; for another, it's connected to a noisy bar--2 things that might discourage one from visiting this place, but shouldn't. The hearty... More
