I hope something Irish replaces it. The people want something with traditional Irish menu and other options with hearty Irish portions, would be nice. The serving sizes were to small. Here is hoping something great fills this void..

This is a really chill place to go with friends, even the bartenders are super nice. Left my phone there and the bartender held it behind the bar till I came back. Get a beer, get the Celtic nachos!

Fun spot that recently cut back to Friday and Saturday only hours with some exceptions for hoidays such as St Patricks Day. It is a great spot close to the strand where my wife and I go often. Excellent variety of beers and some excellent bar food. This week we had crab brucetta which was well prepared and served quickly.... More

Sadly, Maewyn's is now only open on weekend nights and for catering. They used to be our go-to bar for happy hours, but since changing ownership and getting rid of some great staff, they've gone downhill. Food is, and always has been, just ok.

Seven of us visited this authentic Irish pub last weekend. There were over 20 craft beers on the menu. Service from our kilt-wearing wait staff was attentive and excellent. I had the Shepherd's Pie, it was a good and filling choice for a cold night. Everyone liked the decor, which was imported from a real pub in Ireland. Call ahead... More

Stopped here on a date night out. Ordered the BLT would have been good without all the BBQ sauce on it. Husband got Shepards pie had a big glob of salsa on it. Food did not seem too Irish. Had a musician not playing Irish music. Seems like they wanted to be a Mexican restaurant

Stopped in after a show at the Strand and had a few drinks. We also happened to be there during what was apparently either a torture session or open mic - could have been either. We loved the pizza that they used to make - very thin and very tasty. Also, please get some better music.

Had a wedding rehearsal dinner upstairs and was great. Staff was good and food was just as good. Would recommend for a private event.

My lunch visit to Maewyn's was great. The shepherd's pie could very well be the best I've ever tasted. Atmosphere and service were both great. I can see that this would be a fun, fun place to go at night. They have great drink specials as well as food specials. It's downtown where parking could be a problem but the... More

During my trip to York I found myself in Maewyns quite often. Awesome beer selection, great staff and a pleasant atmosphere. I had the opportunity to try several menu items- most was good, though not great. The Shepard's Pie was awesome- tasted homemade.
