As far as BBQ (food) goes, you won't find better anywhere nearby! Food-wise, it is the best! Excellent sandwiches and combo plates, and always a lunch special or two. The place is tiny though, with only about four tables inside (although the outside covered patio is nice in the warmer weather), and BBQ joints like Skeeter's (30 miles south) has... More

My wife and I were driving back from a long trip to SC, VA and back to NY. We had lots of southern BBQ in Richmond, Charleston, etc., but none were as good as the Acme Barbecue Restaurant! I had pulled pork which was very tender and the sauce was better than anything we had down south. My wife had... More

George has done a phenomenal job with Acme. We regularly get take out from here. Recommend buying it in bulk by the pound as it is quite cheap this way and we get two meals out of it. Try all the sauces. Love the white bar-b-que sauce. Best in the country!!!

Stopped in ACME based on Trip Avd reviews and was not disappointed. A small place with a few tables and lots of take out. The mix of customers was good with locals, college kids and business types. The brisket was very moist and lots of sauce choices on the table. Lunch for two was about $20 including drink BBQ and... More

We have been regular customers to acme since it opened but I hadn't been there in several months until this weekend. They are consistently good and continue to improve. I know the owner did a BBQ competition with the shed and the food had only gotten better since he did. The atmosphere is laid back and the service is quick.... More

I visit acme several times a week. Excellent for lunch and get full with yummy BBQ for under $10. The brisket is flavorful and perfectly cooked. Love the ribs to however are at times inconsistent to previous visits. Make sure to try the deep fried potato salad mmmmmm..... Oh and all the homemade BBQ sauces are great. Try the habanero... More

I have went to this establishment multiple times in the past few months and have been satisfied each time. I like the choices of sauces and the pulled pork is delicious. The meal size is generous for the money. Overall good restaurant, will return.

They are, simply, inconsistent. Some foods are good, some are not. Some foods are seasoned well, others are not. We had brisket chili that was SO oversalted it is sure to induce a hypertensive crisis. We had ribs that were super chewy (think beef jerky texture) and bland. The corn bread tastes like it came from a box mix. another... More

What a welcomed change this was from all the burgers and fries. The Pork BBQ sandwich was full of flavor. I was hesitant to try fried potato salad... and it must be bad for you... because it was so good! You must try it. A nice "BBQ" atmosphere with outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant under a garage... More

I usually love spicy, but the hot wings were unbearable. They tasted a little funny and I couldn't enjoy them, the meat was dry and the only sauce not spicy was white, but was too peppery. The mac and cheese had no taste and the potatoes in the salad were undercooked. What was delicious was the pulled pork, so yummy.... More
