First stop on every visit to Reading

After 9 hours flying from Alaska to PA, I arrive in Wyomissing at 7 pm. It 's as if I'm visiting a friend. Good company. About 30 wines by the glass with a small bites, artisan cheeses, and eclectic sandwich menu. Perfect way to wine down.

We live in the Prohibition-Era Soviet-style state of PA where you can't buy what you want at a fair price without government interference ... but, we can go to Winedown, where the owners and staff take pride in providing you samples of what you are missing worldwide. Perfect pairings with amazing appetizers great you along with unpretentious, courteous staff. It's... More

I've been coming to Reading for two years and I'm very disappointed that no one has ever given me the heads up on the Winedown. There's nothing that I enjoy more than some great cheese and fine wine. I tried some cheeses I've never had before and found a new favorite (Piave Vecchio?). The wine list was also ample and... More

We're disappointed that you haven't visited us before either but we're glad you've finally found Winedown! We agree -- there's nothing better than a good glass of wine and some cheese. We appreciate the review and cant wait to see you again! Best, Ben Franco (Owner) More

Love going here for girls' night out. Staff is super-friendly and knowledgable. Appetizers, sandwiches and salads are delicious. Cheese plates are tasty, but very small. That is the only area for improvement.

Outstanding Wines and Spirits are the mainstay of this casual and relaxing wine bar. Small plates are well done and complement the experience quite well. Tastefully done.

Our Ameriprise Financial Planners sponsored the event. We, as a group sampled and then blended three red wines. After much experimenting, we perfected our sample, made a label, and submitted our creation. We did not win, but had a heck of a time! Their wine choices were excellent. The appetizers served were tasty and filling. Perfect place to wine down... More

We found this place while heading to the coffee shop next door. The wine list is short, but the wines we tried were very good. We also ordered some small appetizers which were fine, not great but not bad either. Overall we had a good experience, there is a full bar if someone wants something else than wine. The music... Winedown is one of the hidden treasures in West Reading. They have a nice selection of wine and a tapas menu should you want something to eat while enjoying your wine. They do have a full bar should you be in the mood for something other than a glass of wine. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A place you... More

Tried this place last night with 2 girlfriends. Extremely small tables. Wait staff tee shirts and sneakers. Limited WINE list????? Is this not suppose to be a wine bar??? Sorry dme625, we pride ourselves on our quaint and comfortable restaurant. We are sorry that you did not find a Pinot Grigio on the list, but we do have seven dry white wines that you could have picked from. Next time, please ask to see the wine specialist on staff to help you choose your wines better to your liking.... More
