Wonderful Meal

Sometimes when traveling, we just want to have a quick meal and get back on the road. But on a trip last summer, I wasn't going to be satisfied with a fast meal from a chain restaurant. I used my phone to find restaurants in a city we were near and we took a bit more time over lunch. Our... read more

Any restaurant with the innocuous name of "Martin's" could easily be overlooked. But this one would have made the late Dean himself slide down a pole, light a cigarette, pour a drink, and find a seat on one of the mismatched chairs. The place is not on the Vegas strip. The only strip you might find would be an anthracite... More

We had dinner here on a recent stop in Hazleton, and definitely plan on returning. We stopped without a reservation, to find all tables already reserved or full--yet the owner found a way to fit us in and serve us--tired and hungry travelers appreciated this very, very much. The place is as described, eclectic--which suited us just fine. The food... More

The food here is comparable to any 5 star restaurant. The chef is always offering new & exciting menu choices. Service is excellent & the place is very eclectic (mismatched tables & chairs). Very chic & quaint. Martin's does not have a liquor license. Don't forget to stop at the State Store (for those of you from other states, that's... More

Hands down, the best place to enjoy a great dinner when in town. Est. is a BYOB so bring your favorite wine, beer or cocktail mixers and get ready for a true dining experience.

I thought I had made. Reservation but apparently, I forgot. Jane was very gracious and after some checking, was able to accommodate us. Dinner and dessert were delicious. I had a seafood special and my husband had a duck special. Dessert was strawberries over vanilla ice cream with an Ameretto sauce that we shared. Lovely atmosphere in this little BYOB.... More

A fantastic meal with upscale service & atmosphere -- in a tiny, unassuming little place in downtown Hazleton. If I hadn't read others' reviews, I would've walked right by as the place looks like a neighborhood pub from the outside. Inside, however, you'll find great atmosphere and an incredibly interesting menu. I'll definitely go back.

This is a great restaurant! The food is outstanding, the chef takes great pride in his creations. The service is very good and the atmosphere is charming. I have never had a bad meal here. If you are in the area make sure you stop and enjoy. The only draw back is no bar service. BYOB

Atmosphere, food, service. All excellent. Martin's is consistently good, the BYOB policy adds to the pleasurable dining experience because the diner can bring a good wine and not pay the normal restaurant markup. Marty, the chef, is outstanding. Only slight downside is that its location is increasingly urban and parking can be an issue as well as security after dark.
