We had our wedding reception here many moons ago, and we went back for our anniversary dinner this week. While it all looks the same, we were Very disappointed in the menu. Very. Fish and chips does NOT fit with the more refined decor of the beautiful historic house. Know that I love the Four Dogs, which is on the... More

Remember when tacky restaurants used to charge 50 cents extra for blue cheese dressing? This restaurant brings back those memories by charging $1.50 if two diners share a large salad prior to the entree. This is out of step with the overall quality of the food, service, and atmosphere of this upscale place. Several salads were offered in a choice... More

Dine by firelight in an authentic colonial inn. Outdoor seating in warm weather. Outdoor fire with rocking chairs and blankets. Terrific bar. Great food. Attentive and friendly staff led by the extraordinary Apple! Close enough to walk to ... if you happen to live in our house.

The ambience is great, and the beer selection in the 4 dogs is good. Have eaten here a few times and the food has always been underwhelming. On latest visit the mahi mahi had zero seasoning, zero flavor and was over cooked. Maybe a beer and a simple burger make the best choice. Why push the kitchen beyond their capabilities.

We ate at the 4 dogs tavern which is the more casual of the two sister restaurants. Everything about our experience was outstanding. Our waiter was personable, knew the menu and directed us to excellent choices. We started with a flatbread appetizer that was nothing short of outstanding. I had meat loaf and my wife had the tuna - both... More

The Marshalton Inn is a delightful place for a quiet dinner with friends. It was built in 1793 and has been a stopping off point ever since in this cute little village. It has a sister venue across the parking lot called The Four Dogs Saloon. We chose the covered porch of the Inn for our party of six. There... More

From the exquisite decor, the ambiance of the location, the staff and the food, Marshalton Inn is really at the top of its game. We reserved a table on the front porch. We were greeted by name by Apple, the manager and our table was ready and waiting upon our arrival. Our server (Jen?) couldn't have been better: always at... More

Worth every minute. One of my favorite places to go. Four Dogs is the other......Privately owned and operated, the food quality is unsurpassed and supports local farms. (which means it is always fresh and in season)

My brother and sister-in-law treated our entire extended family to dinner at Marshalton Inn to celebrate another sister's silver wedding anniversary. They arranged for a private room on the second floor of this charming, historic inn. The table was set beautifully and the room was perfectly lovely. As soon as we were all gathered and seated, our waiter appeared and... More

For part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebration, my husband and I decided to have dinner at the much-ballyhood Marshallton Inn. We made reservations several days in advance, and arrived on time. Once in the entrance hall, a hostess said a brief hello, then disappeared. We waited another 10 minutes just to get seated. We were the only ones standing... More
