Still great despite naysayers

This is just a solid night out--excellent ambience and an upstairs fireplace in a historic, romantic, candlelight setting. Each patron gets his/her own mini-loaf of warm bread. My wife had fish, I had venison, and both were delicious and mild without the possible aftertaste. Our waiter was young... read more

I'm glad I didn't read the negative reviews prior to our most recent visit, it may have ruined it for me. This beautiful, candle-lit, historic inn has been a favorite of ours for 30 years. We don't visit often, only on special occasions. We were not disappointed at all. We had a lovely table near a fireplace, The food was... More

We had not been back to this restaurant for a number of years. It used to be very pricey, but very elegant. We did not find the same place we had been. The food was ok. Mushroom soup was excellent, filet mignon - good, the dessert - poor. The coffee cake dessert was supposed to have raspberry marmalade, but turned... More

I hope this restaurant reads some of the feedback from recent diners and makes some changes. This used to be one of the finest places to dine in Chester County and our last visit was so disappointing. What happened to your standards?

...I would do it. Made reservations for New Years Eve dinner for 6 people several months in advance knowing we would be in the area at that time. From walking in hungry to leaving completely satisfied this dining experience was outstanding in every way. Our waiter couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive. He was knowledgeable of the specials and... More

Dined at Dilworthtown Inn on 2/12/15 - a sentimental favorite restaurant for my wife and I (site of our first date in 1989). We have a framed drawing of the Inn hanging in our dining room - so we're long term fans, delivering some tough love in this review. I ordered the crab cake entree - it was mushy and... More

We were excited to have dinner here for Vday. It had been several years since we had visited. It was just an average visit for us. Nothing special about Valentine's at all. Even last year the restaurant we visited gave all the women roses - Dilworthtown Inn - nothing. I think I even got charged for a sliver of asian... More

This is a charming authentic antique restaurant in a rural setting. Everything about it seems to demand an unpretentious and refined casual approach to food and service, but the Dilworthtown Inn has chosen to shoot for the kind of upmarket ambience you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant in a big city. Having the maître d'hôtel dressed up in... More

I've been going to the Dilltowthtown Inn for over 30 years. I've also had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and as far away as Dubai and places in Europe. By far, the Dillworthtown Inn is THE BEST restaurant I have ever eaten in, period! I purposely came two and a half hours in crappy I-95 traffic to... More
