We stopped in here and had lunch with some drinks, very quiet place on a Sunday afternoon. Bartender was very friendly and we enjoyed our visit.

You are greeted by a warm fireplace (which is genuine) an ambiance that of grandeur but not too pompous either~~ just special that takes you back to a preserved past of happy times when people really loved the company of others. The staff all seemed like they like being there, and it rubs off......I liked being there!! It is up-scale,... More

We showed up around 5:45 for their Octoberfest buffet and there were two hostesses, one friendly and one not so much. The friendly hostess said they were full but she'd see what she could do. While she was doing that we were greeted by the not so friendly hostess who acted like finding seats for the hoi polloi would be... More

We felt a little out of place at first when we entered in jeans and I was wearing a ball-cap, but we were pleasantly greeted, seated, and served. Service was attentive and outstanding, food was terrific. If you're looking for a nice place to dine, linens, etc. This is a gem. We felt a bit under-dressed but we weren't the... More

There are only a few restaurants open on a Sunday in Wellsboro. This is one of them. It was only a few minutes away from our B&B. The food was average. Nothing special.

We only had breakfast on Saturday. Regular breakfast is from 7-10am. Sunday they have a brunch that starts at 10am. We left early Sunday morning so we did not have access to breakfast on Sunday at all and left too early to see what the brunch was like. Apparently the brunch is popular because they suggested reservations. The standard breakfast... More

Had the buffet and everything was so good. No one rushed you and was able to just sit back and enjoy the good food and drinks.

The Penn Wells Hotel is a reminder of bygone days, and their Sunday brunch service does not disappoint. A subdued piano player enlivens the room as you enter. Young, eager hosts, waiters and servers have perfect manners and give prompt attention. Feel free to come as you are, even though the tables have white cloths and gleaming place settings. A... More

Make a reservation before you go--this place is really popular with locals. We could see why. The food was excellent--my husband said his salad was the best he'd ever had in a restaurant. The Friday night special is an all-you-can-eat fish fry. We had broiled haddock which was delicious and incredibly reasonable. We loved our waitress, Jackie. Our only regret... More
