Service was very good. Fish Fry was the special the night we dined, but the menu was also very good.

Take your time to enjoy Sundays. A great brunch with a selection of hot entrees, fresh fruits, fruit breads and omelets made to order. The brunch starts at 9 but the live music starts at 10. A great way to start a Sunday.

Visited the dining room for a late dinner on Saturday evening. The ambience is understated elegance, with an emphasis on nostalgia. The service was very prompt, and the waitress was friendly and very professional. The menu had a good variety, and the food was prepared to order as requested. The prime rib special was tender and tasty. There was a... More

We loved the two big fireplaces, especially the one by the bar. Was a nice room to relax in and have a drink after sightseeing. The dining room is fancy but not too fancy, make reservations during busy wkds. Food very good and priced well.

We stopped here for lunch with my son while visiting him at nearby Mansfield University and Christmas shopping in the village. The lunch buffet was very reasonably priced, had a great selection and was delicious. The dining room and hotel have a great "back in time" feel. While the lobby was crowded due to many coming in from the cold... More

We were in Wellsboro this past Saturday for their annual pre Xmas event. It was cold outside so we passed by the temptation of eating at one of the many outdoor food booths. We came upon the Penn Wells Hotel. After viewing their menu, we decided to try their buffet. There were 4 of us, we all enjoyed the hot... More

This past Sunday we had brunch at the Mary Wells dining room in the Penn Wells Hotel in Wellsboro. We have enjoyed the brunch there before and were not disappointed. The variety and number of offerings was very extensive and very good. We couldn't begin to try everything but were very pleased with the choices we made. The service was... More

Sadly, our experience was less than wonderful. We had a variety of appetizers, all of which were excellent. That was followed by a fruity ice served as a palate cleanser. It, too was excellent. Of four entrees, two were subpar. One diner had the sirloin steak and thought it was excellent. The steak entree was accompanied by a baked potato.... More

We had an awful experience. Our reservation, made earlier that day, was lost. Group of 18 men at opposite end of dining room was so loud no one in restaurant could hear, all were complaining and management refused do ask them to quiet down a bit. Dinner was truly inedible--asparagus grossly overcooked; mashed potatoes cold, scarcely mashed and lumpy, and... More
