I am going to preface this by saying that I grew up in Waynesburg and go back at least once a year to visit my family. Hot Rod's is great for that small town Southwestern PA vibe.

Thought I'd treat myself to a great meal today. I had heard so many wonderful things about Hotrods House of BBq in Waynesburg. So off I went. First, while getting parked in the unkempt parking lot across the street, an unattended, parked Chevy Avalanche began to slide towards me through the lot. Thankfully, it stopped and I moved to the... Lots of fun food here - the pork is amazing, and so is the grilled cheese - so much cheese! Nice selection at the bar. Fun waitresses and a good crowd. The parking is a little difficult, but not impossible. A nice little "watering hole."

Ben here once before and the food was very good both times. Parking is difficult but worth the effort. Staff was friendly. Local flavor and people. Not fancy, just a smaller restaurant with bar but not a dark place place. Well light and friendly.

Hot Rod's has a restaurant on one side and a bar on the other. We ate in the bar side because that's the kind of people we are. The BBQ sampler was good with lots of food. It includes 2 jumbo wings, sliced brisket, 3 ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and a garlic bun. The wings were good, the ribs were... More

But I only had the red white and blue salad, real greens and pecans and crumbled blue cheese real food, though not organic. My sis was sick the next day though, she ate something different......

We were vendors at the county fair and decided to get food from an outside restaurant. The sampler and the wings were delicious with all the different sauces they sent with the take-out. Unfortunately, they forgot our chips with the order. Will have to go back next time we're there.

Although I had previously stopped in once to HRHOBBQ for a quick lunch, it was on this return visit month's later that I had a chance to sit and relax after a hike at a nearby state park. Wide array of roasted/BBQd meats make for a good selection, and all of the sauces sampled on this visit were nicely flavored.... More

While it's true the service is slow (understaffing?), the food is worth the wait. We've been here several times. We usually get the same things: an order of fried pickles and hot cheese bites, I'll get the Hot Rod pulled pork sandwich with slaw, and my husband will get the Punisher or the regular pulled pork sandwich- always with brew...
