My friend and I had a good lunch at Matador. It was on a Monday, and the place was quiet and unhurried (though service was prompt and efficient). The restaurant is housed in an old bank (pre WW II era), and has high ceilings, a grand divided staircase, a well-stocked bar, lots of dark wood (don't go if you like... More

After a five-mile hike on the nearby Radnor Rail Trail, I and 11 other hikers walked into Matador, looking for a beer and a snack. The place was packed. They assembled a table for 12 upstairs and within ten minutes we were looking at menus and ordering Sangria. Our servers answered all our questions about the menu, and made some... More

We were seated right away. Drinks were good, but pricy. We were expecting a high end Mexican restaurant, but this place is more of a pricey Spanish/ Mexican tapas bar. Two adults eating until satisfied with a drink each and an 18% tip, should expect to spend about $60.

Love their nachos and they make an awesome margharita! Lots of variety in their drinks and great atmosphere particularly at the upstairs bar, which is our favorite! Outdoor seating when the weather warms up, which is nice!

It took them 40 minutes to seat us, then another 40 before the waiter took our order. When he finally came over, you could tell he really didn't want to be there. Again, it was a long wait to get our food. Once I got my paella, it really wasn't that great and definitely not worth the high orice or... More

We dine at Matador often, with family and/or friends, and always have a good meal. Members of the staff are very nice and kid-friendly. The guacamole is terrific and kids enjoy watching it being made table side. The paella is very yummy, as are the nachos. The white wine sangria is also very tasty! Matador is a family favorite!

We were seated promptly in the bar area. We didn't meet a server for a few minutes. The table side guac was worth the $10. Food came out quickly. We tried the seared mushrooms (a must!), the garlic shrimp, and a chorizo flatbread. We will definitely return.

Food OK, NOT great and portions of main dishes are SMALL, thought tapas plates were to be small and entrees normal sized. Regardless, the pitcher of sangria was 75% ice and this will prompt me to never return.

We stopped for lunch after a college visit. Afterwards we regretted the decision as there seem to be many other, way better, options. The guacamole was bland (no tomatoes, onions or chiles!), my ceviche was only okay, and the jicama salad was overpriced with old, wilted and tasteless jicama. The "Mexican" chocolate mousse was reminiscent of elementary school chocolate pudding.... More

We have been here before, and the dinners had been worth a return trip. The salads were not chilled, and one was served on a chipped dish. The paella was skimpy, hardly worth the price of $58. Being still hungry, we asked for bread, which turned out to be toasted slivers of bread that were cold. We won't be back.
