Vegan mom, Nova dad, persnickety 3-year-old, Cuban grandmother, and grumpy grandpa all found something to love at Matador. Waiters were attentive, efficient, and good-humored. The 9 tapas we shared were quite good. Gazpacho and ceviche were not quite up to par. Guacamole prepared tableside was great entertainment and a good reminder that simple ingredients can produce outstanding taste. The creamy... More

My wife and I took our granddaughter and her roommate to dinner when we visited her at Villanova. She picked the restaurant. Tapas are small portions and they were. Service was very good The prices for the portions were a little high. I would go back.

you would expect the freshly made table side guacamole to be the best that you've ever had. But my son makes a better freshly made guacamole then we had here. I really wanted to like this place, but in all fairness the cuisine was pretty much average, not bad but not good enough that you can't wait to come back.

The service is horrendous. There is an awful waitress who charged us for a dish that we didn't even order. The food was sub-par, and nothing compared to so many other great tapas places. Apparently, the manager and owner are too busy to help the kitchen to even speak to their customers when the waiters or waitress, ( Tina )... More

We live in the neighborhood and recently visited Matador for the first time to celebrate the end of the school year. The service was very good. The drink and food menus are extensive and varied: you can order traditional to exotic. The guacamole and salsa was excellent. We ordered all tapas and really enjoyed having the plates of food arriving... More

My friend and I had a good lunch at Matador. It was on a Monday, and the place was quiet and unhurried (though service was prompt and efficient). The restaurant is housed in an old bank (pre WW II era), and has high ceilings, a grand divided staircase, a well-stocked bar, lots of dark wood (don't go if you like... More

After a five-mile hike on the nearby Radnor Rail Trail, I and 11 other hikers walked into Matador, looking for a beer and a snack. The place was packed. They assembled a table for 12 upstairs and within ten minutes we were looking at menus and ordering Sangria. Our servers answered all our questions about the menu, and made some... More

We were seated right away. Drinks were good, but pricy. We were expecting a high end Mexican restaurant, but this place is more of a pricey Spanish/ Mexican tapas bar. Two adults eating until satisfied with a drink each and an 18% tip, should expect to spend about $60.

Love their nachos and they make an awesome margharita! Lots of variety in their drinks and great atmosphere particularly at the upstairs bar, which is our favorite! Outdoor seating when the weather warms up, which is nice!

It took them 40 minutes to seat us, then another 40 before the waiter took our order. When he finally came over, you could tell he really didn't want to be there. Again, it was a long wait to get our food. Once I got my paella, it really wasn't that great and definitely not worth the high orice or... More
