Great food, slow service

I eat here about once per year, mainly to entertain visitors/colleagues. The food is well prepared and portions are congruent with the costs. However, the last two times I've visited food for 3-5 people took nearly a hour to prepare.

Never ventured off from I70 but found this gem when we stayed in a hotel nearby. Food was fabulous! A little more upscale than I expected. Business casual would be good. We showed up in t-shirts and shorts but the staff was still great to us. Stuffed peppers were yummy, and I always appreciate a good risotto. Especially liked the... More

First time here. We were greeted at the door by the hostess and taken to our table. We chose indoors although they had many tables outside on a very large "porch". Very interesting old mansion with many small rooms for dining. We ordered Rabbit Confit and Veal Chop. Both were prepared perfectly and the presentations were wonderful. Our server was... More

My husband and I stayed in Washington PA for one night for a business trip recently. It was late and we asked the front desk at the hotel for a restaurant recommendation. She suggested this restaurant. We had no idea it would be so nice. The building dates to 1837. The restaurant has a full menu of varied offers. It... More

My dear friend and I had been shopping at the Tanger Outlet Mall nearby and were looking for something other than fast food for lunch. A quick five minutes later we pulled into the parking lot of Palazzo 1837 Ristorante. It's located in an historic building and was absolutely charming in the inside. I have a feeling that their lunch... More

Although they have no gluten-free pastas, they have menus specific to food allergies/intolerances. I ordered the Chicken Picatta from the gluten-free menu. The vegetable risotto was very good. The chicken was a little dry; and it was crunchy on the edges. The sauce was really good. They had some good wines and mixed drinks. 2 of my friends had a... More

When I am not traveling for work, this place is something I really look forward to. It is in a restored old mansion from the early 1800's. I have had so many memorable experiences here from about early 2012 to the present that I can't say enough about it. It is unfortunate some of the recent reviews below shed bad... More

Really enjoyed restaurant week in Washington, PA. Tried the rosemary chicken with the bisque and tiramisu for dessert. All for about $30. Any other time it would cost a lot more and the drinks (cocktails, beer or wine) is where they always get you. I would go back for a special occasion as they update the menu every season with... Restaurant itself was very interesting and charming, but it took almost 20 min for a waitress to bring us some water. Food was very bland and the items cooked together just did not seem to go together.

Ordered a pasta dish which was way to hot & spicy for me. Asked waiter if the chef could make me the same dish without all the hot stuff. His answer was NO!!!
