Great Food

Small and casual atmosphere. Tends to lean towards Italian food. Last time there I had a delicious huge fish sandwich. Very fresh fish. Only problem was they actually served frozen crinkle-cut fries with it. :( . I have had other fish dishes and they are very good. My husband usually gets... read more

My sister chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday with extended family. The restaurant was packed and had a live band playing jazz. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was delicious but it took forever for them to take our orders and for us to get our food. But I hope that it was an unusually busy night.

We ordered Reubin sandwiches and waited 45 minutes to get them. The waitress apologized once, never asked us if we needed a water refill. I'll never go back again.

I went with a local friend who bought dinner and wanted me to try this 'favorite' restaurant. The service was extraordinarily good, a fire in the fireplace was welcome on a cold night and the room was simply decorated and clean. The music on a Wednesday night was a nice surprise, very good and not too loud. My Italian food... More

I had read some great reviews about this restaurant and went in with high expectations. The service, food and entertainment(Yes, Live Music by two Amazing Vocalists) not only met but exceeded my expectations. The soulful voices singing in the background put me in the mood for some good old fashion southern cooking and when my plate arrived,I knew I had... More

Food arrived cooked as requested and hot. Food average quality. Atmosphere average diner type. I read other's reviews and thought I would try it again -- disappointed that it was the same old local hole-in-the-wall restaurant [in exterior, interior and food quality]. Should have gone elsewhere.

Unbelievable food, great service, reasonable prices, live jazz 2 nights a week (no cover charge). This little gem would be easy to miss as you drive by but clearly the word is out. Never had a bad meal - chef/owner clearly takes pride in every plate he sends out of the kitchen. Find it, try it - you won't be... More

We went here while visiting family in the Pittsburgh area. We were a group of seven and while it was busy, we had elderly parents with us and they were kind enough to seat us right away. Our server was very attentive and kept the drinks flowing. The menu is large with mainly Italian selections. The beans n greens were... More

Al'an Ruben's in in NO WAY a hole-in-wall, but the exterior of the building doesn't reflect that the restaurant is on a "nicer level." The food is basically Italian, but a variety of dishes are offered. It's a family owned business and the recipes are theirs. Forget the diet. The staff is relaxed and attentive. The food was excellent!!! The... More

We were a group of 5 visiting on a crowded Friday evening. This was a wonderful surprise. The website and the outside did not prepare us for the terrific food and service and the warm and welcoming atmosphere. All five of us had great dinners. My chicken with artichokes and crab in a heavenly sauce was memorable. The portions were... More
