Finally. A menu that is interesting, offering so many possiblitites for your dinner that it was actually a little scary. What if I pass up something really good, for something really good? This restaurant is set right in the middle of State College Penn State and on a Thursday night with no obvious college activity going on (ie Penn State... More

This is the second time I've had a bad experience here. I understand that every restaurant can have a bad night, but 2 bad experiences within one year is too much. The drinks didn't come until the main course was delivered and they were badly made. The waitress was fine until I complained about the drinks. Instead of attempting apologize,... More

I was skeptical about eating here when my girlfriend made the reservation. I've been downstairs to the Rathskellar dozens (ok probably hundreds) of times to drink and I just assumed the quality of the food upstairs would be reflected by the conditions of the bar downstairs. I am so relieved to admit I was wrong. I've eaten everywhere in State... More

We came in on a pretty quiet night and while there were plenty of waitstaff around they took forever to even acknowledge that we were standing there waiting to be seated. We had the jambalaya and the grits with shrimp and scallops, and both were good. However, it does feel a little overpriced for what it is and for this... More

Spats arguably has the best food for miles around. It's exciting. It's interesting. It's delicious. They also have a wood floor and high, tin ceiling, so the ambient noise can be a bit much. It's part of the whole experience, though, so if you know to expect it, Spats is worth it to me. Some people complain about the prices,... More

From the get go the service was poor. There was no one to greet us and we had to wait for someone to seat us. (as did others who came in after us) A woman seated us without so much as a smile. Our waitress took a good ten minutes to get our drinks and another fifteen for a glass... More

We had great bloody Mary's and appetizers around lunch and came back for dinner prior to a football game. Service was fantastic and the food was great! Each of us had different entrees and they were all great. Would highly recommend and will definitely return to Spats when we are in town! Make reservations for game weekends!

I was working in St College and wanted to find a great new place for dinner. Especially as I wanted to treat a colleague to a special dinner after a long drive. Checked w TripAdvisor and found Spats, the commentary was favorable, so we took a chance. The staff was great and the meal very good. We both ordered from... More

Great vibe and food at this New Orleans style restaurant. We loved the almond crusted chicken and chopped salad. Cute place and great service. I'm planning on going back for sure.

Had great service from our waiter and while the food was very good, it could have been great had there not been so much raw garlic. I had the oyster appetizer which while the oysters were excellent, the sauce was laced with garlic and the spinach was overpowered with raw garlic. I had the mahi tacos with were excellent too,...
