The Entrees seem to average $30 and for $3 more you get a salad or soup. So it may be slightly higher than other restaurants but it is excellent. My wife had a chopped sald and I had the crab soup. Both were superb. My wife had a catfish entree, and I the crab stuffed portobello mushroom, also excellent. Desserts... More

Five of us, including a one year old, enjoyed Spats with its quick service, attention to any possible needs, and, oh yes, the food! Flash fried oysters, crusted asparagus, warm herbed rolls, crab- stuffed portobellos, ribs, etc., etc. Atmosphere was relaxing, with enough space between tables and booths, somewhat dim, overall warm and comfortable. Waitress was exceptional, never hurrying us... More

At the last minute, they accommodated our large group of 11. The service was good, and the food was OK. I had the red jambalaya, which did not have much flavor. I added the hot sauce on the table, but beware, it is very hot. I got the side Greek salad, which was very ordinary - just mostly iceberg lettuce.... More

From start to finish this meal was superb! We both ordered the special for the evening which was a local fresh meal. Cheesy grits, fried tomatoes, pork medallions, finished with a blueberry apple corn chutney and garnished with watercress. Our server, Will was excellent and did not let our water glasses run dry. Seated at a great window table at... More

We are locals who dine at Spats frequently and usually have no complaints, save for last evening 22 july 2015. The food was great but the service was terrible. It takes a lot for my husband not to tip 19% but last night was one of them. We will have to think twice before taking other guests there.

We arrived early and had a reservation thru Open Table. They tried to seat us next to a family full of kids and the place was literally EMPTY...we were only 2 people and they kept saying they had other reservations yet none of the tables were pushed together to seat 4 or more. We ended up in the back of... More

Having been regular visitors to State College for more than 15 years, we were pleasantly surprised when friends took is to this restaurant. Had no idea there was authentic Cajun cuisine in this part of the world. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, from a classic jambalaya to a unique crab and spinach stuffed portobello. Plenty of interesting options for the... More
