don't miss the muscles

Huge selection of appetizers, sandwiches, huge burgers and more. It was no trouble for us to find something for everyone, even on the smaller menu used on busy weekends (still a bigger selection than most other joints.) As trip advisor has a limit of 12 months on reviews I will be clear that this review is longer than 12 months. This place though is an institution in state college and what I remember very well are the Long Island ice teas and the buffalo wings. We are .......

I wrote a review a while back about Champs, but I recently had an exceptionally awful experience there, and I need to re-write my opinion. Champs has good food -- I always enjoy what I eat there. Their happy hour is great, and I love to go there for trivia. I accepted a long time ago that their service is... More

It has been a few years since we have been here but it defiantly was not how it used to be. They do not offer the full menu on weekends anymore My son wanted ribs but we couldn't get them. Then he decided on shrimp and pasta but you can't get pasta before 4 pm. Never heard of that. So... More

We've eaten at Champ's several times. It is a sports bar, so it has a very masculine vibe, but everybody goes there. The food has been very good and so has the service. I like the Po Boy type shrimp sandwich, but it's served without remoulade sauce, definitely a sin! Other than that it's great and the portions are big.... More

We used to rally like going here until we were 15 minutes late for our reservation due to a football game presentation. When we showed up and asked for our table, the owner yelled at us that we couldn't expect him to hold the table "all night". We ahd been regulars until that night.

I went there to meet up with some local high school friends. They put us upstairs and it was a little tight but the staff was friendly if not the quickest. They authorized my card incorrectly and tied up almost $100 on my credit card for charges I did not have. When traveling it was inconvenient for sure.

For a sports bar in a college town, Champs is incredibly clean, reasonably quiet, and very family-friendly. Every time I visit my parents in State College, we take the kids in the family out to lunch at Champs. This isn't because the kids are sports fanatics, but because the waiters and waitresses are kind, friendly, and responsive, and the menu... More
