We eat here a few times a year when we visit our son at Penn State. The food is fresh, tasty and presented very nicely. We tried the spicy tuna sushi last night as an appetizer and it was outstanding! We also enjoy many of the noodle dishes. My wife had steamed chicken and vegetables with brown sauce on the... More

We tried to find an Indonesian RESTO at Penn State but we could not. We found a Malaysian RESTO the menu similar such as Indonesian food. Not bad, simple, fast service and variety menus.

Love the Malaysian food, especially the noodle dishes. There are so many choices and the portions are huge.

As a Malaysian who was born and raised in Malaysia, I can assure you that this restaurant serves crappy Malaysian food. I've had Malaysian food at various Malaysian restaurants in USA and Canada and I have to say that this one is on top of my list for the worse one. The quality of the food is poor, the flavors... Very large portions, plenty to take home, and some interesting dishes. I enjoy their Drunken Chicken Noodles, but my son never wants me to finish them when I order them so he can have the leftovers! He likes to order Basil Rice, which has a lot of flavor, chicken, long beans, other veg, and spicy basil sauce. Bathroom is clean.... More

Being a Malaysian myself, the food makes me think of home. I came here every weekend to satify my desire for Malaysian food. I second all the comments on seeing mostly Asians in here. This is one of the tell-tale sign that the place is good. Asians are very particular with their food. I wouldn't say it is the best... More

This was a GREAT place with wonderful food. However, they got a new cook in January 2013, and the food has changed radically. I had been a good client since Penang opened, but the last two take-out orders were a disaster: in late January my wife & I got sick a few hours after we ate our usual dishes (Thai... More

I have been to Penang many times and have only made a small dent in their extensive menu. It is not my favorite Asian restaurant and I have been disappointed a few times, but generally it is quite good. The place is very popular with Asian students and the staff is professional and efficient. They have their own sushi chef... More

My husband and I really love going to Penang. The menu can be a little overwhelming because it is so big with so many choices, but I haven't had a bad meal yet. It is BYOB which is a nice way to cut down on costs. The portions are huge. I normally get one of their noodle dishes and have... More

I have lived all over the US, NJ to LA, and Penang has great food at a great price. Lots of options from Sushi to Thai to Malaysian dishes all very tasty and well done. It's a BYOB place as well so that also keeps your bill down. The place is always filled with International students as well, so you... More
