We lunched here with my family of four. The start was not good: we had to run into the place because of heavy rain and accidentally walked past the 'wait here to be seated' sign. The manager (?) and the waitress did not like this at all and scowled at us. The burgers were fantastic, though! Fresh buns, good meat,... More

We ate at State College Diner while visiting for a few days and the breakfast food was great. The price was right too! My husband enjoys scrapple and was happy to see it on the menu and he said it was very good. He had the 2 eggs, hash browns and toast special, #5 and liked his food. I enjoyed... More

Once a year, we take a group of 15-20 for dinner a few times in one week. Owner and staff are very accommodating and the food is good.

This is a great place to eat! The food is just like home, service is timely for busy people and hours work for us.

This state college diner is at Hills Plaza. The owner needs to post a picture of his restaurant on this website. After reading these reviews, I think some people are confusing it with the State College diner across the street from Penn State University on College Avenue downtown. Regardless, neither is much to rave about. I have been in this... More

mediocre off campus college food and poor service. Prefab hamburger with stale roll. BLT served without mayo. Expensive lemonades. We eyeballed the grilled sticky buns at the next table and they looked unappealing. My husband is upset that Penn State students -already burdened by high costs - pay so much for the Diner's mediocre fare.

The food is good, but they up charge for everything. The waitress was a little slow and we had to ask for refills, even though the place was almost empty. We do go here whenever we are cycling in the area, however.

Went to this diner late at night to have the stickies and ice cream. Not disappointed. Always good , crowded during school time, and after the bars close. Love this place and the stickies

This place is very much a diner, with diner-style food and a fun wait-staff. I've never had a bad meal. Their soups and entrees are good, and they have fantastic desserts. It's not fancy, but their prices are reasonable, and we go there enough that the staff knows us by name.

I dont know where to start my husband and I went out on a date night and it was a Friday night this place had no lines. that should have been clue number one. we interrupted one of the waitresses who walked us to a booth and walked away turns out she was actually our waitress. Over 5 mins later... More
