Very rude service, but then again that has been my experience at most Japanese restaurants. So snooty - I hate that! BUT... this was the BEST sushi I have had in a long time. Good thing they have fresh fish, otherwise their bad attitude would put them out of business. So five stars for sushi but 0 stars for service... More

I've eaten at Sakura many times and enjoyed it--especially the Thai curries and some of the Chinese dishes. But they changed the menu sometime in the spring of 2014. When I ate there in August (2014), there were no curries or Chinese stir fries. I ended up ordering grilled salmon. It was dry, tasteless, and nearly inedible. My friends enjoyed... More

The service is very friendly and it feels like an authentic Japanese place. The sushi is the best in town and I've tried them all...

I had the tofu teriyaki, and the tofu was fine, but the sauce was gummy and thoroughly unremarkable. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce topped with a bland dressing. The chicken in my companion's chicken with pineapple was mostly breadcrumbs, which she scraped off to encounter rather tasteless meat.

Had the hibachi scallop dinner ($17.95) based on daughter's recommendation. I mistakenly asked a couple questions - whether the scallops were bay or sea and whether they were farm raised. This set back our ordering for a bit and I never got an answer before ordering. Turns out they were sea scallops - cut in pieces. This comes with salad... More

Sakura has a vast menu with top quality food and preparation techniques. Their seafood soup and other appetizers are fantastic. We usually order some hot appetizer and then sushi and sashimi -- again, top notch. Service staff, sushi chefs, and the behind the scenes kitchen staff do a great job.

Loved this place! We had the best rolls I've ever eaten. We also liked that it was BYOB. There is a wine shop nearby to grab a bottle. Nice find near Penn State and hotels.

We ordered chicken hibachi, steak hibachi, Thai Ginger chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. All were good except for the Pad Thai which was a disappointing gelatinous mass of noodles. The shrimp was actually good but there was little to no peanut to be found and, as mentioned, the noodles were a stuck together mess. The soup and salads that came... More

By far some of the best sushi I've ever had, even better than high end locations in Las Vegas. Service was quite good and the sushi was simply delicious, fresh and very tasty. My wife enjoyed her fried rice too. Will definitely return! Almost didn't stop as I associated it with Sakura in Altoona, PA, but it's 1000 times better... More

Nice BYOB with good variety of well-prepared food. Had everything from sushi to pad Thai. Everyone enjoyed it.
