We always stop by the Creamery when we are at Penn State to get half gallons to go. This is the only place where you can still get a half gallon of ice cream - not just 48 ounces. The price is a little high at $6.25 per half gallon, but it is well worth it. We bypass the long... More

I was taking some family for a first time visit to my home town. The visit would not be complete without getting some icecream at the creamery. The flavors are awesome and it is quick and affordable.

If you like rich creamy ice cream you must go to penn state's creamery. You will enjoy. Any flavor is good. If you can't wait for a cone take some home. For a small charge they have dry ice for your trip time. Their own made cheese is also tasty.

It's an ice-cream parlor. Listed as number one restaurant in State College I wandered in looking for a meal and was met by a befuddled look from the girl behind the counter. The ice-cream was good but not up to Ben and Jerry standards. I bought a half-gallon of Turtle for $6 plus change and hit the door.

A few things to know about the Creamery: 1) no mixing flavors 2) portions are huge 3) come hungry They have dozens of flavors and I've never been disappointed. Classics include Peachy Paterno and WPSX Coffee Break but my favorites are Russ Digs Roseberry named for the women's volleyball coach and Golden Pecan Chocolate. Yum! They have foam coolers and... the best ice cream in the world, awesome flavors. They will pack in dry ice for your long trip home. Everytime up there one of the places we try to get to for ice cream and cheeses. Yum

The Creamery is a great place for ice cream. They do have other things, but to be clear, it is mostly worth visiting as an ice cream shop. If you are in from out of town, they have very affordable dry ice and can pack half gallons to travel as well. We always keep our freezer stocked with several half... More

Forget the snacks, campus-grown mushrooms, dairy-produced cheeses and yogurt, the only thing you really need to get at the Berkey Creamery is the world-renowned ice cream. Be forewarned: no mixing flavors unless your name is President Bill Clinton (the only person who rated an exception to the rule), and abandon your diet all ye who enter here. This is the... More

Love the ice cream. Wish they had the option of a smaller size! They have "Dixie" cup sizes, but only in 3 flavors. Of course everyone wants their own favorite flavor. The fudge swirl and bittersweet mint are old time favorites. Been going there since I was a child.

In my humble opinion - the Berkey Creamery makes the best ice cream! When you visit State College make sure to take some time to stop in at the Creamery - you won't be disappointed. WPSU Coffee Break is one of my favorites.
