Description: Each Harrison's Wine Grill menu reflects Chef Harrison's love of local ingredients. At our locally owned, award winning restaurant in State College, we go out of our way to find and use the best products available. Whenever possible, we purchase ingredients from local Pennsylvania growers and purveyors, in particular ones who arrive at the back door with freshly harvested offerings like elephant garlic, fresh green beans, or wild morel mushrooms. When a good quality ingredient is not available locally, we go out of market to find it, especially seasonal seafood. Full bar includes local microbrews on tap and over 20 wines by the glass. Located two minutes from Penn State's main campus, Harrison's is located within the State College Hilton Garden Inn. Harrison's is upscale yet casual, and a favorite of State College locals, Penn State alumni and students. Voted State College's Best Caterer, Best Wait Staff & Best Health Menu by the readers of State College Magazine.

My husband and I would normally avoid a restaurant attached to a hotel for dinner out, but after reading prior online reviews we decided to give this one a try. I have to say the service and food here were outstanding! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, the menu was creative and featured local providers, and the food presentation was... More

Harrison's conveniently located a short walk from our hotel. Had read prior positive reviews and we were not disappointed. My tilapia salad was really tasty with a properly made tortilla base for texture and a great combo of flavours. .. cilantro. . Lime. . Tomato... and cajun spice on the Fish. Great wine selection and our shared dessert of Strawberry... More

Finding this fine restaurant attached to a Hilton Garden Inn (no offense to HGI) was unexpected. Our small meeting group (there were eight of us) was easily accommodated with two-person tables pushed together. Half of us sat en banc. Seasonal items were incorporated into the menu along with local specialties. Some of us wanted to tweek the preparation and those... More

I went out with some friends for a girls night out. The special menu at the time was Rustic Italian. I went all out and ordered from each section of the menu. My motto is you can always take it home and there were many items I wanted to try. All of it was delicious but I had dreams about... More

I came with my friend to State College for a day and had she tasked me to search for a nice restaurant for dinner. I did a brief search on Google and came upon Harrison's which had decent reviews. We dined on a Friday evening and it was not crowded at all. Our server was very friendly and checked in... More

Normally, you wouldn't even think about eating at a restaurant in a motel chain, but Harrison's is different. It has all the attributes of a fine restaurant - comfortable seating, nice decor, inventive menu (this one with a prix fixe French option, with wine pairing if you like) and very good food. A couple of things to be aware of.... More

I love this place except some of the staff are not so pleasant. My visit this week required me to flag down the waitress to place a drink order after she passed the table several times without stopping. She was also obviously irritated that we did not order full meal - instead opting for appetizers and desserts with our wine... More

Thank you for your nice comments about our food and restaurant. We are sorry to hear that the service you received that evening was not satisfactory. I have followed up with the staff about this. Susan, who I believe was your server, had a difficult section that night with a large party that required a lot of attention at times.... More

I normally do not write reviews but, in light of my experience and three others I have to counter the last review. I am sure it is all in the perception of the individual, so this is not an attack on her or even what she wrote. Rather, my assessment and supported by 3 other professionals (age 55 to 60),... More

Harrison's used to be our go to 'special occasion' restaurant. However as time has gone by we no longer find the regular menu interesting. Most of the dishes on the main menu are boring and bland. They try to shake things up once in a while with their special feature menu which for us turned out to be a complete... More

Thank you for letting us know – we always appreciate feedback so we can make changes and improvements as needed. In preparation for this menu, we spent time at a Peruvian restaurant watching technique, learning about ingredients, and finding out what makes the Peruvian food characteristic. It is important to us that it is being made correctly. I have checked... More

Ate here while in State College on business. Staff was very friendly and atmosphere was nice, but food was just average. I ordered off the buy local buy fresh section of menu but was not overwhelmed. Meal was good but not great.
