Good for lunch

Good place to grab lunch, nice windows on the Allen St. for people watching. Has the same kitchen as the corner, more of a bar atmosphere. Food is solid and I usually leave very happy and quite full. Later at night it changes to a real student bar/hangout with DJ.

Went to Pickle's for the first time on a Thursday afternoon. A few things I noticed that I liked; first off, it had very high ceilings so it didn't feel cramped like some of the other PSU bars do. Also it had big open windows, giving it the open air feeling that's always nice on a beautiful day, which it... More

I went there for a drink. It seemed like a cool atmosphere. I did not get to try the food. I went to the bar to wind down after several hours of driving to State College. My main issue was the bartender with spikey hair. He was more focused on talking to these two douches in polo shirts. I waited... More

We stopped here for lunch and had a great window seat. It faces an alley so it was quieter than most places and great for people watching. Good beers on tap. Nice variety of food. From fried pickles to salmon with quinoa!

Overall the service was very good, these guys and gals were working hard and they're mostly college kids living off tips. Their attentiveness and good nature pushes the bar to "very good" and not just "average." The food is pretty typical bar food with a couple of different selections. The wings were done well but the O-rings came out luke... More

For years I wanted to go to "Pickle's", but my husband doesn't drink and prefers the more restaurant-like atmosphere at the "Corner Room". Finally I got my wish, and it was sheer bliss sitting at a table next to an open window on a sunny day. Even during the semester break there's a lively scene on south Allen Street. The... More

First time visit to this pub and we had a great experience. Arrived around 9:00 pm to watch the Final 4. The place was lively and there were plenty of TV's to watch the game. We were able to get two seats at the bar and had no problem with service. Actually, it seemed that there was a lot of... More

Well visiting State College i found this pub to be the most friendly/ cozy bar in town. Our bartender was very friendly his name was bryon I believe. Good food and drinks are very resonable. Be back soon

Stopped in for a quick dinner on a Saturday evening. My daughter had a Blue Moon and French onion soup, while I also enjoyed a Blue Moon with a reuben. Very nice, with friendly service. Excellent.

If you aren't sitting at the bar there is very poor service at the tables for drinks. Kind of dark inside too. The bartender seemed to have a little bit of a lacks attitude. Specialty drinks weren't so great. I guess its' okay to stop for a beer. They do open up the windows when its warm so you feel... More
