Stately atmosphere, great service, and surprisingly affordable. Hot and cold breakfast and lunch items, along with a carving station and fresh made omelets.

I have eaten here twice and I have gotten the ribeye both times. The beef comes from PA and it is good, and I am a Ruth's Chris guy. The lobster bisque is very good ( having lived in Maine, I recommend!) You can't go wrong with ice cream from the creamery for dessert.

This an A+ hotel. The lobby is big, lots of seating and a fireplace. The room was spacious and beds where comfortable and they even had a printed card saying there are feather pillows in the closet. Keurug in the room and room service. It has a great location on Penn State campus and the price is fabulous. I would... More

We have dined at the Nittany Lion Inn Dining Room before. Last nights dinner was by far the best we have experienced. When I made the reservation, I told the hostess that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and asked if we could be seated in one of the "writing rooms", which are separate dining rooms off of the main... I have attended several banquet lunches over the past few months & was totally not impressed. The staff fills coffee carafes to leave on the table for guests to pour themselves; however, they must fill them hours before because the coffee is always cold. They also pre-cut the dessert (usually cake) & put a plate at each table setting. They... More

I have always wanted this place to take it just a notch higher and become utterly five-star, but I understand why they can't and don't. That's not a criticism by any means. I truly enjoy dining here. Most of their fare is quite good, and some of it is exceptional. The attire is more "State College casual" than I would... More

I've eaten breakfast and lunch several times at the Nittany Lion Inn, and have never left unimpressed. The buffet was very high-quality; there were hearty soups, several different meats, and fancy desserts (not typical buffet foods.) It was so filling, I don't see how you could stomach a meal or any additional dishes from the menu, along with it. The... More

We had a business lunch at Whisker's. Looked forward to a new and maybe inspired menu. But the service was poor-- only 1 person working on a Friday lunch?? She apologized for not remembering anything because she was studying for a test later in the afternoon. If her memory was this poor, I don't think she'll be in school long.... More

Excellent atmosphere, food, and service. Unlike your typical buffet, the stations are spaced out and ther is no real "line". Probably an older than average customer base so it was a very quiet enjoyable evening. Lobster bisque to die for....several raw bar and a wide variey of cooked fish selections. Hard to save room for dessert but you should try...several... More

My husband and I wanted to go out for Easter Dinner so we called the Nittany Lion Inn for reservations. I enjoy lox and bagels which they serve with cream cheese, chopped onions, chopped hard-cooked eggs, and capers. They were delicious. Then onto the breakfast foods of waffles, pancakes, strawberries, whipped cream and the best flavored bacon we believe we... More
