The best hamburger with meat sauce! The same women have worked there as long as I can remember. It's not the biggest burger, but it is tasty. If you are traveling with the burgers, ask them to not steam the buns. At Christmas time, they have the biggest tree. It truly is a trip down memory lane.

You go to the Coney Island for a hot dog or hamburger because they have nothing else to eat. They do a great job with the cooked onions and meat sauce. It is pricey for the area but the few times A year I get nearby I have to stop in. Some of there help has been working the 52yrs... More

I grew up in Shamokin, and having traveled through every state and many other countries I have never found a coney dog to top those served at the Coney Island. Their coney sauce is unbelievable, and I have never been able to replicate it so I just keep going back. The sign out front and the interior decor have changed... More

It is not a trip to this anthracite coal mining town without a stop at Coney Island Lunch! It has been there since Pangea... A railroad style room with a high, knocked-tin ceiling and old-school white marble topped tables in the back and wooden (original issue) counter stools in front, this place is straight out of central casting. The burgers... More

I probably tasted my first Coney dog in 1974 and I think the two that I just ate ( 39 years later) tasted exactly the same... Perfect. My daughter was amazed by the real working payphone. Its been many years since I've been to Shamokin and despite all the changes its good to see some things stay the same.

I grew up in Shamokin and visit this place at least two times a year to order coney island style hamburger or hotdog. The sauce is fantastic. I usually skip the onions. Mustard is important too. You have to get the chocolate milk.. it is a tradition. If you visit during Christmas, they have an extremely large tree in the... More

My wife's grandmother, Bernice Beaver, lived in Shamokin in the 1990's. My wife, step daughter and I drove out to Shamokin for Thanksgiving in 1991 to visit. Grandma Beaver said the place was there when she was young. We are from Chicago so dogs here are different from dogs there. That being said I like them both. I still have... More

If you're looking for Kobe beef, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a good burger or dog, then come on in! The locals go for the nostalgia. Your only choices are a burger with fried or raw onions with chilli sauce and mustard. I still cringe at the non-regulars asking for ketchup! The same options are... More
