A taste of France in Sewickley- for sure!! Good food; good service, sorta stark decor, but the delivery is wonderful.
We've eaten here several times over the past few years when visiting family who live in Sewickley. Usually we eat in the restaurant, but the last time we took our food home to eat. Perfectly acceptable food, well prepared, efficient staff. You place your order at the counter and they will bring it to your table (or call you) when... More
Nice varied menu, well prepared with fresh ingredients. Good soups, salads and sandwiches. Breakfast and lunch only. Good to go food when need be.
My office is in Sewickley, so I frequent several of the restaurants here. I've been coming to the cafe on a regular basis since it opened several years ago. At that time it was owned by Eric, a Frenchman from Marseille, who spent the better part of a year teaching me French slang from Marseille and complaining about my Parisian... More
This little cafe is tucked away in an alley. That adds to its charm. They have some outside seating, but not much. The food is very good. My group had crepes, French toast, quiche and sandwiches. All were good. I especially liked the cappuccino. I think the prices are a little high. Lunch per person was $15+
We have eaten here twice now and the food had been very good both times. The crepes are made to order and very fresh. The ordering/serving part of it could use a bit if "tweaking" but other than that it is worth stopping in. We have also had omelets, French toast, and quiche. All were good, as well as the... More
A really cool place to have a sandwich and soup OR breakfast all day (or until 3pm when they close). Everything is made fresh and we just loved the experience !
I've been here numerous occasions, and thus far I've never been disappointed! The flavors may not appeal to everyone, but they are trying new flavors. My most recent visit was a chicken pot pie with chipotle chicpea and spinach veggie mix which was a little unusual. Usually I indulge in a Croq Monsieur; their bechamel is divine! Crepes are large,... More
I had very high hopes for Cafe des Amis. Mostly because it's 5 minutes away from my house and the menu looked so appealing. When you get there, it's a totally different story. Let's start with the surly staff. We needed a table cleaned off and had asked for some help with that. Quite a bit of huffing and puffing... More
Went with local friends for brunch. I had the ham, Swiss and bacon omelet, and one of my companions had a huge breakfast wrap that she couldn't finish. Luckily I have a big appetite, and took care of the leftovers. The prices were great as was the food. It was well prepared and tasty. I think it was a good... More
