Had dinner at the Ugly Oyster for the very first time (July 2014), despite the fact that I used to live just a few blocks away in the early 2000's. What a treat! Ordered the scallop dinner. Very generous portion. Reasonable price. Delicious. I will definitely go back, the next time I am in Reading.

One of my coworkers and I stopped by for dinner on July 14, 2014. There is ample parking nearby, either on the curb or in the parking lot/parking garage, both basically just across the street. We parked in the garage and for the 2 hours we were there it was only $3. Some areas of Reading we drove through to... More

We stopped in for a quick bite, one person in out party had the Oyster and was very pleased with them, the rest opted for other choices that were ok. Nothing our of the ordinary. The place was clean, service was good and the place was quite busy. This would probably be a better review if I liked oyster.

This is a good place to order seafood and know you will receive something good. We also enjoy other items on the menu but always my choice for some seafood.

Wow. You never know what you are gonna find in the strangest places. I was passing through Reading, and needed to find some place interesting. I stumbled on the Ugly Oyster, and what a great find! I had traveled through Ireland last year, and felt like I was back there again. A live irish group played all night as I... More

Wonderful venue. If there is no room at the tables or few booths, sit at the bar. Try the fantastic mussels! You get a choice of three styles. I prefer the white wine and garlic (Provençale) style. Never thought to try a burger till my cousin had one! Now, it's my burger place of choice. And top it off with... More

In town for the jazz festival. Went there for dinner tonight on TA recommendations. Food was pretty good and service was nice. We tried the ugly pretzel, which was ok, not outstanding. I ordered the scallops over rice. I found it to be boring but my husband loved his Cajun salmon. The salad was really fresh and the fries really... More

Definitely a bar atmosphere. Fantastic burgers, crab cakes are awesome too! Beautiful woodwork. Great draft beer selection with some awesome IPAs.

Irish themed pub whose best days are obviously behind it. Overwhelmed by the smell of Pine Sol upon entering.. Less then friendly bartender. Ordered the crab dip that actually was quite good but served with an assortment of stale crackers and pretzels.. The men's room was in a word .. Disgusting.
