If you like bar food this is the place for you. The restaurant is on the small size, so make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The stuffed pretzel with crab meat for an appetizer is a must. Fish and chips are very good and so are the fried oysters. Other guests told us the burgers are... read more

This was our first visit to Reading, PA, and we didn't hear a lot of good comments on the food scene. We were pleasantly surprised at the places we found. As my wife put it, "We didn't have a bad meal the whole time in Reading!" We stopped at the Ugly Oyster with friends on our first night there. We... More

I've been to Ireland and this is as close as you'll get in this area. Great authentic food and atmosphere. Excellent beers on tap and in big bottles. Very knowledgeable staff about the beers too. It might sound crazy but after you've tried the more traditional Irish foods, try the wings! They're amazing! Some of the best I've ever had.

Great service and food (fish and chips and wings delicious) on a Friday and meeting great people. Blond Bartender not so friendly and customer service oriented. She let my friends walk out Sat because she was not willing to accommodate a 4 person area for an 8 person area. She lost money for the pub because she did not service... More

This is an authentic Irish pub that offers a full pub menu with a great sirloin. Meals come with generous, great fries and a full range of Draft beer. Attentive service and reasonable prices.

I'll just say we weren't impressed with either the food or the service. Both were tolerable, but I'd never go back for oysters (which is a bummer, since the place has "oyster" in its name). If you're looking for decent fish fry type food and a cold beer, this works. And the fries (made to order) are indeed quite good.... More

A fun Pub, a touch of Britain in Reading, PA. I have enjoyed the Fish & Chips in Guiness batter with malt vinegar and very good burgers. Set your expectation for Pub fare and you will not be disappointed. Great beers on tap and bottle. In a downtown area with not alot of good choices it is my go to... More

Great local bar and pub! Pub fare food, cold drinks. Definitely one of the 2 bars in center city I would recommend. Service is very good. Only problem is the actual bar was brought in from Ireland and I guess they are really short because it's hard to get adjust your legs at the bar. I'm 5'2

We stopped for an early Saturday dinner. There were not many patrons there, but there were a lot of reserved signs on the tables. We were quickly seated. They have a nice tap beer selection. The drink service was quick, and our food orders were taken. We both had steak sandwiches with fries, and they were excellent. Nice size portions. service... More

Standard bar fare, expected a really good crab cake on a roll but it was mushy and not seasoned well.
