Plain and fancy

My wife and I met for breakfast and got exactly what it is named. The food was traditional diner food, nothing to rave about. The service was prompt at first but got slower as a few more tables came in but no big deal since we were lost in conversation. The fancy part is true this place is flashy... read more

Good menu selections and tasty food. Split pea soup was very tasty. My friend ordered turkey and stuffing like Thanksgiving dinner. It came with cranberry jelly and gravy. The crab cakes looked good with two made on-site crab cakes of respectable size, but I was disappointed with too much starchy filling. Bigger pieces of lump crab coated the outside of... More

Been here many times and it's a reliable diner breakfast spot. The food is average but don't get distracted by the plain and fancy sides. Diner vs. Dining Room, no difference either way. Steak and eggs means something resembling a steak, but the hash is good and portions are decent sized. Nothing special, just a diner. Ate dinner here once,... More

We stayed in Quakertown on business for a few months and ate here regularly. The menu had a wide selection of choices and everything we had was excellent. All of our meals were very good. Huge selection on the salad bar and some of the best gyro meat I've ever eaten in the States. We were told the gyro panini... More

Not a good meal. My daughter ordered Salisbury Steak, it was cold and mushy. My Prime Rib was so so. Salad Bar was very limited. I would not go back.

A very good place to eat. Very clean and the service was pretty good. We stopped for breakfast, portions were large for the price and everything was hot and served rather quickly. Very enjoyable!!

This is home cooking with you having to cook! The menu is extensive. It's hard to make a choice. The food is good and arrives hot. Good service as well.

Six of us went here for breakfast. We were promptly seated by the host in a spacious, well lighted, and clean dining area. Our waiter must have had a memorable evening because taking care of us was not his priority. Though he was pleasant, he seemed to disappear at times. Besides not knowing who received which plate, he had to... More

John's is a Real Diner. A varied menu, but the diner basics are the best. The service is always very good, the food good, and it's almost always open,

If you want a great substantial size meal for a reasonable price, you must stop at John's Plain N' Fancy Diner in Quakertown located on Route 309 going south! One of the largest and heaviest menus in the area with numerous selections to choose from! Great lunch specials for $6.95 with desert and above all just great "Plain N' Fancy"... More
