A business colleague and I enjoyed the food and setting at the Sonoma Grille, although the service was spotty. The restaurant bills itself as serving "California cuisine," which my dining companion found interesting since he's from California; I would tend to call it more "trendy" than classic with some interesting and eclectic pairings. The rye-crusted salmon on butternut squash risotto... More

I've been to Sonoma Grille several times. They have a good wine selection that is limited to California wines, but there are some very good ones and some fine wine selections! The food is good and it's been some of the best service we've had in Pittsburgh.

I have been here a number of times, but it had been a few years. My 3 colleagues and I didn't have a reservation not realizing it would be so busy on a monday. The hostess had left to seat another party and i was waiting at the desk. A few people came in after us.. apparently part of a... More

Really like this restaurant. Have come many times over the years and is my go-to place when I visit Pittsburgh. They focus on local and fresh ingredients. They are also known for their wine list, lots of selections by the glass.

We had a nice dinner. Service was good and food was for sure above average. We were a party of six and all agreed we would go back.

Sat outside during the Anthropod convention. Quite entertaining passersby. Great service, very good food. Tapas plate worth trying. Good steak, great iceberg salad, though the duck was tougher than normal confit. Chocolate cake needs to separate itself from the dessert trio. Great wine by the glass selection.

Everything we had there was great! And, it is connected to the Courtyard by Marriott. Our favored server, Barbara is retiring to Florida so we will miss here if we visit again. The drinks were great - try the Old Fashioned! And the food was scrumptious! My personal favorite is the Salted Carmel Ice Cream they make in-house! It is... More

I first went to Sonoma Grille expecting a decent meal, but my expectations were absolutely exceeded. The waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have been to Sonoma Grille three times total and one time the computer system was not working so it was very lengthy for them to put our cards through, and they gave my friend... More

We took a short trip to Piitsburgh over the Memorial Day weekend to take in a Pirate game. This place was just a short walk from our downtown hotel, so we had a pre-game dinner here. The Sonoma Grille serves quality fare with service to match. The avacado with lump crabmeat appetizer, infused with chile oil is absolutely outstanding. I... More
