Good food for a reasonable price

I visited Rose Tea Cafe with a group of six for dinner. Although they do not take reservations, we called ahead to let them know what time we would be arriving, and they had pulled 3 tables together for us. The servers were helpful trying to recommend dishes that would suit our preferences. I... read more

My husband and I go to Rose Tea frequently and the food is always delicious! My favorite is the basil fish, which is served in a sizzling clay pot. We also love the sweet and sour or salt and pepper spare ribs. Their bubble tea is better than others I have tried in Squirrel Hill. Staff is friendly, food is... More

I'll be reviewing the Oakland branch since I visit that way more often. Although this place is small, with a small food menu and majorly famous for bubble tea, their food is pretty awesome! My staple dish here is the Curry chicken (or sometimes the curry fish). It is really good, spicy and flavorful and surprisingly similar to Indian curry... More

This weekend trip is my first time visiting Pittsburgh. We were excited by finding this restaurant online. My boyfriend is a Caucasian but he has been trained to appreciate Asian foods in the past. Ambitiously we ordered five dishes: steamed dumplings (appetizer), fried stinky tofu (appetizer), stir-fried veggie with garlic (蒜炒空心菜), chicken with basil (三杯雞) and fried pork chop with... More

My friend who comes from China frequently talks about this restaurant, and indeed, this was the main (only?) reason she wanted to visit Pittsburgh with me. I as an American don't think I can appreciate it the way she does, but service was friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. She says they have some of the best "smelled... More

I've been months without fried stinky tofu (炸臭豆腐) and had resigned myself to a life without said food unless I make future trips to Taiwan. Well, yesterday, I found out about Rose Tea Cafe having said food item, and I immediately gathered myself to end up there for dinner. My brother-in-law and I showed up, were seated promptly, and the... More

Great little place on the main strip of Squirrell Hill in Pittsburgh. Try the Kimchi hotpot, it is delicious! Super casual atmosphere, was totally packed when we went there. The staff was super nice and helpful and we had 8 people.

Lots of options for carnivores and vegetarians alike. We had some scallion pancakes and broccoli with garlic sauce and rice. Delicious meal with quick friendly service. A large choice of boba tea flavors as well. Perfect spot between the Carnegie and Pitt campuses.

Being from NYC, we were taken to the Rose Tea Cafe by friends who were locals. We found the soups for two almost a meal itself for two. The smoothies were rich in fruit. The Eggplant with Garlic Sauce was tasty. If this restaurant were in NYC, I would be a steady monthly customer, it was that good.

My wife and I were near Carnegie Mellon University and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat. We were attracted to this little cafe and wanted to give it a try. The place was rather quaint which was fine by us. I ordered the chicken and broccoli with rice and my wife ordered the noodles... More
