What a wonderful place for a dinner date! This location next to the summit of the Duquesne Incline, could easily skate by with a lame menu and lousy service, but this team wouldn't consider it. From the front door staff to the waiters to the creative menu, this should easily be a local's favorite as well as a destination restaurant.... More

Its one place where you get it all - best views of the city, very plush and upmarket ambience, great service and very good food. The view and the setting just sets the mood. Go in the evening and get there in time for a nice dinner. They serve their own blend of popcorn which is very tempting and goes... More

We had just one night in Pittsburgh and we chose to have dinner at Altius. We took the Incline and enjoyed an amazing view of the city. Lucky for us our table wasn't ready because we sat at the bar. My husband loves a single malt scotch and the bartender was a gem! He could talk scotch and was right... More

Second time here. Not impressed first time. This time superb dining! The charcuterie is very good although the meat selection is much better than the artisanal cheeses selections. The condiments. Grilled breads, cornichons, mustard, jam and honeycomb are wonderful. The baby arugula salad was good. The skuna bay salmon was superb , flavors from the red miso glaze, the coconut... More

The most awesome view of Pittsburgh. Great place to watch the city lights come on at sunset. The food is top notch. All kinds of nice little touches, gourmet popcorn instead of bread (the kids loved it). Fancy but still great for kids. Also a great place to entertain and impress your out of town guests!! Highly recomended.

This restaurant has it all - wonderful food and an amazing view. We dined in a party of 6 and everyone raved about their meal. The cocktails, salads and entrees were all beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend.

Mt. Washington never really disappoints for special occasions, and we would highly recommend Altius, in the tradition of all the other great restaurants up there providing quintessential Pittsburgh experience. The only mediocre thing we had was the Charcuterie. Everything else, from service, to atmosphere, to the nice size portions (big pieces of sea bass and bone-in pork chop that looks... More

Excellent dinner, atmosphere and service. Brenna, our server was gracious and attentive. Restaurant week menu was delicious. Every table seemed to have a spectacular view of the city. A great place to take out of town guests to showcase the best of Pittsburgh. We will be back!

My wife and I have dined here twice now, and absolutely love it. Finally, a restaurant on Mount Washington where you're not just paying for the view! The menu is creative, the food is expertly prepared, and the service is great. And, the view is of course amazing. Altius is officially our go-to restaurant for special occasions!
