My son and I were staying at the Doubletree for the New Year Events. We arrived and our room was not ready, the hotel manage kindly gave us a $60 credit for "snacks" in the Bigelow Grille. I could not find one thing I would eat, as I am somewhat picky. The kid, ordered a crab cake sandwich and... read more

Dear JamesZ62, Thank you so much for taking the time to offer us feedback about you experience in our Restaurant. It's unfortunate that you were not able to find anything on our Menu that you liked. However I am happy to hear your child enjoyed the Crab Cake Sandwich, and that you enjoyed having Scott wait on you. We hope... More

We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel Downtown because of the proximity to Heinz Field. After the game we came back to the hotel to eat and the wait was quoted as "1 hour." We decided to wait and the lack of service at the bar forced us to go to our room and get a beverage. We finally were sat,... More

This was "Light up night" in P-burgh. After trying to get reservations at a number of other restaurants, we resorted to the facility in the Doubletree where we were staying, They were not that busy, though had to go through main desk several times to get restaurant to pick up the phone. Ordered a basic bottle of Montpelllier Pinot Noir... More

Several items on the menu were unavailable. That's a restaurant management failure. Service was OK, but I won't return.

The Bigelow is attached to the Doubletree Hotel and used mainly by hotel guests. The menu is restricted resulting in limited choice. The food myself and my wife had was of good quality and well presented. The staff were pleasant but short in numbers in my opinion.

The buffet breakfasts offers many of the options that many hotels offer to guest as part of the stay. The staff was very friendly and the service was good, the food was sub par and over priced for the quality.

After a long day, we decided to just go downstairs and have dinner. The tomato soup was delicious. My son had the roasted chicken, nothing but bones on his plate when he was done, I believe he really enjoyed it. I had the smoked brisket tacos, a little too smoky for me.

I usually avoid restaurants in the hotels I'm staying at. So glad I made this exception. It was nice to just get in the elevator to get 'home' for the night. Fresh tasting. Creative combinations. I had a difficult time making a decision on my entree. The server was great, made excellent suggestions, friendly - that good Pittsburgh hospitality, and... More

We ate at the Bigelow Grille several times during our stay. Try the Scallops - they are great and so is the southern fried chicken sandwich. As with the hotel, the restaurant staff was friendly and took an interest in the guests. Save room for desert!
