great lasagna etc.

We were in the mood for italian and our hotel suggested Lidia's. A real nice room with great service. We had fried calamari, cooked just right and grilled octopuss which was EXCELLENT. i ordered lasagna with a bolonaise sauce that was close to perfect. My husband and I try to visit Lidia's at least once a month, because we're never disappointed with the experience. While my husband is a fan of the pasta trio (fine by me since I get to taste) andn I've enjoyed the salmon, the osso bucco and the duck gnocci, I find myself coming back to the lemon/caper chicken breast... Had dinner in Lidia's Saturday night before attending the men's NCAA tournamnet games and had a very nice experience. We got a giant upstairs room and had a jolly time with highly attentive service. Food was good not great but this is a nice place and both my wife and i enjoyed it.

My husband and I went to Lidia's on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. We did not have reservations but were seated immediately. Service was great. We had the pasta trio and it was so good. My husband is a very good cook and pasta is one of his favorites so if he raves about it I know it's good. We... More

The Menu at Lidia's is very similar every time we visit. However, the food is consistently good. It is classic Italian flavors with interesting ingredients. The decor is warm, upscale Italian. The wait staff was a little slow, except for our awesome server, Melvin. We arrived around 5:00 on a Thursday, so we had no wait to be seated. Although... More

We arrived on time for our reservation and watched several other parties being seated before us. We waited 15 -30 minutes to be seated at a table by the servers' station and the waiter seemed stretched among several tables. The concept pf the pasta sampling was good and the food was adequate. I had anticipated eating at Lidia Bastaniach's restaurant;... More

I love this place! The food is great. We always opt for the pasta trio and it never disappoints! My only negative thing to say is about the person taking reservations. We had reservations for our 20th anniversary and got there to find out they had us in the wrong week. Last week we made reservations for my birthday the... More

Lidia's is not to be missed when visiting the Steel City. We have dined there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Efficient and extremely friendly and helpful service compliments the excellent house made pastas, entrees and desserts. There is a Sunday brunch with choices of antipasta and dessert bars with choice of pasta trio (all you can eat)... More

Given Lidia's terrific restaurant and NYC, I was eager to try her place in Pittsburgh. The first impression was a dull disconnected front of house greeter who might have been having a bad day, but perhaps a bad life. I don't think I woke him up but he acted so. We sat at the bar and had great service from... More
