I had high hopes of Kaya. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant, even though we sat on the small patio lining the building. The food, however, was just okay. We started with the Cajun Alligator. I have never had alligator, so I'm not sure if it is always like this, but for me, it was very tough. For... More

We went on a Thursday for lunch. My husband and I split our lunch. We had the corn and lentil beignets with curry sauce, which was outstanding. Also enough for two people, easily. Then we shared the tropical paella, which according to the waiter, was their signature dish. The mussels were great but the rest was just okay. Good but... More

So much flavor. I love this place. I always want to get the fish tacos because they are so good but all the food is so crisp and flavorful, they have a nice selection of microbrew beer. Love love love this place

We had to change our reservations from a party of four to a party of six and we found the manager, Monika, very accommodating. She bent over backwards to seat us comfortably. We arrived early on a Saturday evening and the table was ready. Our waiter was very attentive. I'm not sure about our fellow diners but my husband and... More

Kaya is a welcomed change from the typical restaurants that you find in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Most of the restaurants in the strip area offer good "Pittsburghese" food but, this is often heavy or fried. Kaya offers a welcomed menu that is light and very flavorful. Lots of spice! The servings are filling. The atmosphere inside is cool and tropical feeling... More

We recently went there with friends and we all had a delicious meal! The menu wasn't the same as what was on the website, so they didn't have what I was going to order ( they do change it) but we all enjoyed our meal! We all split the alligator appetizer as a novelty and were pleasantly surprised at how... More

I decided to try this place while in town for a pirates game. Although I always go to pirmantis while in pittsburgh this time I wanted something different since I had my wife and my 2 year old with me. We chose kaya because we love caribbean food. We we were impressed with the food. We ordered the conch fritters... More

We went with a group of 10 for lunch. It was unanimous .... loved it! Our table had a variety of food and everyone was happy. Huge beer menu but don't overlook the cocktails. We had a great drink and a fun conversation with the bartender who is very committed to her craft.

Went there for a late lunch after browsing through the market. Food and service was exceptional - just what we needed on a warm, humid day. So many wonderful things oin the menu. We decided on a wonderful strawberry gazpacho soup, fish tacos and pulled pork & banana sandwich. All was very tasty and wonderfully presented. Worth a trip from... More

The only place that I've came across in the downtown area for such quality Caribbean food..the conch is mandatory. Great location and I was really happy with the service provided. It's a little expensive, but I went during lunch to compensate for the price. The bar looked beyond capable of a hosting a happy hour a few hours later.
