If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with a fabulous view high atop Mt. Washington overlooking the city of Pittsburgh, this is for you. For those of you familiar with the area, this is the old Christopher's location. The food is excellent and you pay for the view but it is worth it. We were recently there for a... More

To celebrate my wife's 50th birthday, I decided to take her somewhere very special in Pittsburgh. So I asked her to make a list of ten restaurants in Pittsburgh that she would like to go. Then, a bit selfishly, I decided I'd pick from the list which restaurants I've wanted to visit as well. So, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto was... More

The view is without a doubt, spectacular. But the service is excellent and the food is more than just delicious. Wonderful atmosphere all around.

Always enjoy Monterey Bay Fish Grotto. It is one of those places like the Grand Concourse you take special out of town guests. The view from the glass elevator going up the outside of building to the restaurant is a nice feature. The view from the restaurant is even better. Great service and great seafood. Valet parking is a nice... More

I love to take guests here for the amazing view. It is breathtaking. I find the food always good, as is the service. However, without the view, the value just isn't there. The room is very tired. That said, there was sign in the lobby indicating that the restaurant would be closed for renovations starting in late February 2015. As... More

We came here for the views- waited an extra 30 min for a window view: worth it!! The menu is overwhelming- so many daily fish options but also an ample selection of non-seafood meals. We ordered the calamari (I'd give it an 8/10), Chilean sea bass which in the Caribbean sauce which was perfect, and stuffed shrimp. Both main dishes... More

This is my favorite restaurant...hands down! I usually make it about once a year to keep it a special occasion place to visit. It's a dining experience from start to finish. We always start with a few interesting signature cocktails in the lounge and it's a must to request window seating, city-side, for dinner. I'm convinced there is no better... More

We had a lovely evening with great food and a beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh from Mount Washington. Take the Duquesne Incline to the top and its just a short one block walk. Fresh seafood. The appetizers a sharable and the dessert menu is awesome. Try the angled cheese sandwich for dessert. Sounds weird but it was really good.

Great restaurant and view! Waiter was awesome. Kitchen did mess up my wife's order (gave her small shrimp instead of the scampis). But manager promptly bought us desert to go, which was awesome. Definitely an occasion place!
