I first visited MBFG when I was in town on a business trip and was treated to dinner there. I was SO impressed that I couldn't stop talking about it after I got home (to NC). The very next month, my husband and I literally made a road trip from NC to PA just to eat at MBFG! People still... More

We celebrated our anniversary here and it was exceptional. The service is great, the food will melt in your mouth and the atmosphere and view can't be beat. The menu is extensive with so much to choose from, all of the fish is fresh. My husband had the Seafood Choppino and I had the Crab Cakes, both excellent. The Shrimp... More

Fresh fish flown in daily. Exhaustive menu of fish and each with three suggested preparations. Great for couples, friends and even business meals. We ate in the bar/lounge and were well attended to. The facility itself is showing its age. But the food was very good and for a Wednesday night there was plenty of patrons. I recommend it and... More

Tied with the best fish I have ever had. An overall excellent dining experience. I had the Stuffed Yellow Fin Tuna, and it was exceptional with mushrooms and a tasty sauce. Also excellent was the chevre and strawberry salad and the smoked salmon appetizer. The Creme Brulee dessert was so-so. Excellent view of Pittsburgh.

---stopped by at the landmark restaurant at 1:15pm, and even though it was a cloudy day--I was overlooking Downtown Pittsburgh, and was most impressed! The 3 Rivers- the Allegheny, the Monongahela, and the Ohio, all plying their ways--make such a stupendous view from the 300 foot high? view, over the City. I was pleased in all ways, however, I would... More

Make reservations as tables here come at a premium. Views are spectacular, you can see the whole city. Go at sundown, you can see the sun set and the city turn on, quite lovely. Food is just as good as the view. A huge menu, a ton of fresh fish, and even more sauces to accompany them. You will have... More

We really lucked out, or maybe it's like this every night. The sunset was spectacular for over 20 minutes. Amazing. Dinner was great too. I had the mussels appetizer, and I regret there was no taste of lemoncello... But my fish, in basil-champagne sauce, was amazing. Skip the dessert. I had the angel food cake. Eh.

Stopped by just after the lunch rush in the middle of the week and that was a mistake. I suggest you do not go at that time unless you have a couple of hours to spare as service is incredibly slow. Our waiter had only one other table yet it took him several minutes to take our drink order and... More

Unlike too many "Destination" restaurants, the Grotto not only has killer views, but great fresh food. The chef has imagination but also works with outstanding produce. In the midst of the US, he is serving really fresh Pacific and Atlantic fish. The preparations are excellent. Branzino, served with head on...yum, crab cakes, Hawaii fish of many types, were all pronounced... More

We spent the evening with friends from Florida. Prior to the meal we had a drink and a beautiful view of Pittsburgh. We were greeted by the Maître De upon our arrival and was showed to our table. We were quickly greeted by our waiter who informed us of the special fish of the day. We choose Chilian Sea Bass... More
