Come for the view

Would go with a 2 or 3 for the food--ridiculously underdone, crunchy pasta, mediocre cut of steak, waiter says expresso. . . With the pretensions of quality come expectations. Maybe it was an off night because it was slow? In spite of that, we had the place to ourselves, and we had a great... read more

Our friends rented this place out for the evening as their wedding reception venue. The menu was nearly identical to the normally served menu but all the proteins were bundled into one course selection versus a land and sea course. It is fine dining with the expected small portions and we were happy with our selections as well as our... More

Food=good Price= :( Good food, good view, that's for sure. Go here if you are from out of town and you want stunning views of the city. It's a high-end restaraunt so don't expect to leave here on a weekend without spending $250+ on two people. With that said, you get what you pay for. Good service, good cooks.

There are only a few restaurants on Grandview at the top of the Duquesne Incline, and they are all expensive--you really pay for the view. We were lucky to get in without a reservation since they had closed the downstairs room, thinking that on a Friday night before the Fourth of July festivities they would get little business--wrong. We were... More

Offering a fantastic view not to be missed. My wife and I found the restaurant clean with a fresh comfortable atmosphere. The server was informative, polite and attentive. The dishes presented well though the portions were rather small for my liking I did not leave hungry. Expect to pay for the service, food and view.

Met two couples, all of us from out of town. Took the incline to eat at Isabela…unique and fun. We were seated in an intimate room upstairs, with an incredible view of the river and Pitts. skyline. My husband and I did the tasting menu and it was wonderful and nice to experience all of Chef Jaquie's creations. She came... More

Isabela is a unique restaurant. We were staying in south side and we took the incline up to isabelas. Was an unusual way to climb a mountain to get to dinner! The views from isabelas can't be beat! You feel like you are sitting on top of the world. The pittsburgh skyline was beautiful! Seeing all the lighted bridges and... More

We enjoyed a great meal here with a group of 10 people. None of us tried the tasting menu, it was a little more food than we wanted. I had the semolina gnocchi, which they prepared without the accompanying butternut squash at my request, and it was delicious!! I also had the pork shoulder, which was amazing!! My husband had... Was excellent dinner for two, service was great and helpful. If you would like a great experience and not to be rushed to eat and have time to talk during your meal, this is the place. Also an excellent view of the city of Pittsburgh. (preferably at night).

My wife, daughter, her boyfriend and I traveled from Youngstown to Isabella a week ago Saturday night. We had reservations and despite the the crowd we were seated immediately upstairs with a wonderful view of Pittsburgh. Some of the group started off with champagne or wine, and I had coffee. I picked the semolina gnocchi while my wife had the... More
