Very good food

We had a very good dinner I had swordfish that was cooked perfect. My husband had oysters which the great and son had calamari. Our waiter Brian was very knowledgeable about the all menu especially the Oysters taste and where they were from. Thanks we had a great evening!

We were exploring the Strip District of Pittsburgh on Saturday, when lunchtime arrived. While there are many eating places here, they all seemed so crowded. This was just east of 21st Street on Penn Avenue. We were seated right away. The server claimed that they had the freshest fish around. We tried calamari for appetizer, and it tasted fresh, as... We were looking for a place to eat in Pittsburgh while in town for a graduation and found Luke Wholey's on Trip Advisor. I wanted to make a reservation early because I know how difficult it can be finding a place to eat in Pittsburgh without a wait during big events and the marathon was the same weekend we were... Appetizers were very good. We had the happy hour priced appetizers - smoked whitefish salad and Thai Chili Catfish Bites. They were both awesome. I had the Baja Shrimp & Day Boat Scallops as an entree. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was expecting a "fancy" restaurant, but that was not the case. The decor was... More

This is a solid seafood restaurant on "The Strip" in Pittsburgh. The raw Oysters are delivered daily and our dozen of Blue Points from New York were large, salty and fresh. The Salmon was a solid choice (wasabi sauce was spicy and savory) and the ell Sushi roll was crisp and satisfying. A great pit stop when you are walking... More

had a 7 pm Saturday reservation for a first date and had a truly remarkable experience! From the moment we were seated outside near the sidewalk on a gorgeous 70 degree day, to Heidi's pleasantly professional and personal demeanor along with Luke's Dad's charismatic charm, treat yourself to one of Pittsburgh's most electic and yummiest seafood establishments! The crab stubbed... More

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a dinner downtown. The Strip district has a fun vibe and the restaurant likewise had a fun yet relaxed atmosphere. The interior felt casual with the telephone cable tables and huge octopus painted on one wall; it had a warehouse type feel but had been tastefully decorated. The huge windows facing... More

Definitely try the catfish bites. I wasn't sure because I never thought I would like catfish, but they were sooooo good. Sweet and yummy. We also had the fried cod, scallops and shrimp. It was all great. Very cozy place that is open so that you can see everyone walking down the market streets. Quite nice!

Outstanding Saturday in the strip made even better by Luke Wholey's. We had brunch consisting of their house made BloodyMary (dressed with shrimp and some great veggies) and oysters on the half shell. The oysters were really fresh and tasty. After shopping we returned for lunch of a softshell crab sandwich, fries and salmon roe sashimi! Service was great. .... More

I have never been to a restaurant before that had such an awesome display of food. Everything was fresh and tasty! I loved the way they served their king crab legs which were also the sweetest tasting crab legs I've ever eaten. I also loved that the owner made his presence and even cleared off our table for us. Excellent... More
