Excellent cuisine, but oh, the noise

Party of 4 - we had lots of wine and lots to talk about but first the food - just delicious and creative. Would totally return for the food (and the company). First, Avenue B does not have a liquor license, so it's BYOB. If you do bring your own wine, they will uncork it and pour it and they do have wine glasses. Cozy but upscale atmosphere. Menu is on a chalkboard, looks to change regularly. I ordered the fish and chips. Walleye, mixes with potato and cole slaw. I'm not... More

I tried Avenue B with a group of 3 friends a couple months back and we all agreed that it was one of the best places that we have dined in Pittsburgh. We ordered several different appetizers, sides, entrees, and desserts. Everything we tried was phenomenal. Food was fresh, portions large for the price, and there was something for varying... More

What I like about going to a new restaurant with friends is being able to order and share just about everything on the menu. I believe we tried nearly the entire menu between the 8 of us sharing bites. The appetizer variety was quite diverse from smoked trout to mussels to soft shelled crab to pork pate. I am not... More

Absolutely killer menu not real big but covers the whole spectrum from carnivores to vegan. The muscles appetizer was fantastic, wagyu meatloaf out did itself. Byob with very resonable corking was perfect. Prices are very appropriate for the quality

We were in Pittsburgh for the day to look at real estate, since my son will be attending grad school there. Originally, we had intended to eat at another restaurant across the street, but discovered they were closed until July. We opted for Avenue B instead. The first thing I remarked to my son was how the interior and atmosphere... More

We had just left Shadyside Hospital, hungry, exhausted and emotionally spent. We spotted Avenue B about a block from the hospital, entered and asked for a table. The host asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't; but after one look at us, must have decided that we needed a respite. They found a table for us, and proceeded... More

Four of us (two couples in our 50s and 60s) had dinner here yesterday. Finished our coffee and desert and paid our bill and were just winding up our conversation when our rather pushy waiter came over to tell us that the next party for our table is here and we are being asked to leave. In their defense, our... More

I live in the UK but as my son was getting married in Pittsburgh, I needed somewhere for a rehearsal dinner. I approached over 20 restaurants in and around the city and was surprised that only a very few bothered to reply. Chris, at Avenue B, responded immediately, was extremely helpful in developing a suitable "British" themed menu for the... More

I find myself in Pittsburg often and Avenue B is always a stop I look forward to. The pear and pesto flatbread is delicious as are the mussels. I love mussels in the hands of a quality chef. The lamb when it's on the menu is a homerun. Little place with lots to offer. Check it out
