Dinner for my Birthday

My wife and I had yet to visit Nola on the Square since the reopening so I picked this place for my Birthday in early February. It was a fabulous dinner! The place was decorated nicely for the upcoming Mardi Gras party. We both had a good drink first: my wife a had martini and I had a beer from... read more

Visited February 13 shrimp appetizer was ok. Ordered scallops and duck breast off of the valentine menu. Scallops good but very small for price duck was bland. Staff was not knowledgable about entrees. There are better places in town for the price.

My friend and I went to brunch here. She had their take on eggs benedict and I ordered the steak and eggs. Both meals were delicious. The server was nice and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. They had a menu option where you could choose one cocktail, one starter, and one brunch entree for $23. I... More

What kind of reputable establishment has a wait staff that squats down next to your table and starts uninvited conversations with one female guest. Four attempts at flirting while our pizza is setting on the table getting cold. The 5th attempt was the final straw that broke the camel's back. The waiter sat down next to my guest in the... More

While this restaurant is very popular, it is not one of my favorites since I am not really a lover of Cajun cuisine. Recently a friend decided that we should go there to celebrate my birthday for lunch. I almost said, how about another place, but I decided that it would not be so polite to tell the gift giver... Had a very strange experience here. Our waiter seemed high or something. He was very odd and hovered a lot as if trying to listen In on Our on conversation. Both he And his assistant made an effort to stress that they served creole food which can be spicy. It took a while to get drinks. The food came up... More

Pre-fire: The food and atmosphere at NOLA were fantastic. Post-fire: It is just not worth the time or money. The fried green tomatoes were very good. But our main courses and drinks were awful. If I am going to pay alot for a nice meal, it had better be good. We found the food for our main course meals during... More

I visited NOLA when it first opened, and found it quite good. However, on my most recent visit, not long after they re-opened due to a fire, it seemed something about the food had changed. The service was friendly, and it wasn't too crowded on the afternoon we went, but the new menu seemed somewhat lacking, and the offerings seemed... More

I was dumbfounded by the number of "excellent" ratings. Maybe something has changed. I found the place to be physically very nice and I am sure the live music must be fun. I visited on a Sunday afternoon. The waiter seemed to be very casual for such a pricey place. He was very friendly but had little knowledge about the... More

Called and asked what was the wait time, I was told there was no wait time. I informed the call taker that I need a table for three and I would be there in five minutes. I was at the Fairmont Hotel when I made the call. He said OK. We arrived five minuted later and was informed the wait... More
