A Nice Day on the Square

It was a beautiful day and Nola had available outside tables so we decided to give Nola a try. I had soup and half sandwich. Gumbo soup and shrimp po' boy. I've had better but it was good. My wife had soup and the fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were good but a little on the thick side for our... read more

Market Square in Pittsburgh just keeps getting better, and NOLA on the Square is just one great new addition! First of all, let me say, best shrimp po boy since leaving Louisiana! NOLA offers colorful, comfy indoor settings and a nice-sized outdoor section - which we loved on our 72 degree day downtown. They offer diverse options, though somewhat select,... More

Really enjoyed this restaurant and would return to try the other dishes. Had the Nola Salad which was a substantial, delicious concoction including goat cheese and candied pecans. A great lunch. My husband had blackened chicken -- also excellent. Wide selection of specialty beers on tap. Great service, reasonable prices. A find!

Had shrimp and grits. One of the priciest items on menu. It was good, but not exceptional. Wine list is decent and inexpensive. My sister-in-law had a flat bread that was very good and reasonably priced. Alligator was ordered as an appetizer - nice flavor and texture. Due to dietary restrictions, I needed to order a rather bland entrée. Would... More

We stopped in on a Sunday after biking. We got a table outside and ordered the flat breads with a salad. The small side salad was so delicious and the flat breads were some of the best I have ever had. Server was so fast and really helpful with finding just the right drinks. She even made up a special... More

Arrived just as they opened for lunch on Saturday Aug. 22, 2015. My waiter Patrick was wonderful - great service yet unobtrusive, making sure my drink was filled and checking if I needed anything. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes for the appetizer and Muffuletta sandwich with Voodoo Fries as my main course, both were quite tasty. I was in... More

After a walk around the city and spending time people watching I market square we capped the night off with beignets at NOLAs with a sip of bourbon. Loud blues band and great atmosphere takes you away just a little bit from our ever changing city.

Right on market square, Nola will drive you straight to New Orleans when sun shining and musicians playing on square. I couldn’t compare served food with “real Cajun” one but spices were there, bringing great taste and making my time happy.

Following a recommendation from Tripadvisor we elected to dine at Nola. The setting of the restaurant was attractive. The entrance was inviting and well decorated. We were greeted and seated immediately. They offered a good variety of dishes on the menu. We selected a oyster po boy and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere,... More
