Upscale Cajun food

It was pouring rain so all the activity was focused on the bar--packed and very noisy, We almost didn't stay, but we were ushered to quiet table in the restaurant far from the bar. Be sure to ask if you want a quiet dinner. Once seated, we were overwhelmed by the menu choices-od -so many... read more

Started out great. Great waitress. Packed. Good music. Started with fried alligator and fried green tomatoes. They were delicious. Had the chopped salad. A big bowl of romaine and not much else. Also the gumbo. That was good. We shared a flatbread. Came out burned on the bottom. Sent it back and the kitchen staff ate it. Next flatbread was... More

We have been to NOLA's restaurant on Market Square at least six times and every time it has been an enjoyable experience. All but one of the visits have been for dinner but the most recent was at lunch time. We were served by a delightful member of the wait staff who was very helpful, efficient and quite outgoing. She... More

Been to Nola once now. Pretty good Cajun food, and plenty of outdoor seating in a popular area. I've been in Pittsburgh well over a year on business, and there are many better choices, so this isn't somewhere I'd rush back to...but then, I'm not a huge fan of Cajun. Service was so-so, the waiter was very knowledgeable about the... More

What a lovely surprise to find this gem of a creole restaurant in Pittsburg. All of the food we tasted was authentically flavored. The shrimp and grits were my favorite, although I prefer the southern style that is less soupy, the flavor was rich and smoky with a hint of slickness. Would definitely go again.

We were heading to the theater, last Friday and we were looking for a place to have dinner. everything was pack around the Benedum Theater. We walk all the way up to NOLA. They were busy, crowded. We got a table 9Without reservations, that was plain luck), I told the sever we were going to the heater and he expedited... More

My wife had a pasta dish and I had a house salad and flatbread. We started with a fried green beans dish that was very tasty. We each thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had a specialty (liquor) drink that was based on a Manhattan and was very good. We dined on Saturday night at approximately 7pm without a reservation. Live... More

I have been to Nola on the Square some time ago and wanted to go again but was disappointed when i heard they were closed because of renovation. I decided to go back after their grand re-opening for an early Father's Day dinner with my 3 sons. We did not have reservations but were able to get a table. Service... More

I've been to Nola's a few times before and have always had good experiences. The fully stocked bar always has a "relevant to the season" selection of Craft Brews and the staff is courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They offer a New Orleans Nouveau Creole menu with live jazz on select evenings. The outdoor seating with a view of the bustling... More

I swore I'd never try this restaurant because it replaced my all-time favorite (the 1902 Tavern) on Market Square, but I'm a sucker for Cajun/Creole food. My wife is not the adventurous kind and selected the herb-grilled chicken to be on the safe side. It was excellent and she had enough for 3 meals. We started with the Deep Fried... More
