Fun, informal, satisfying, tame New Orleans style cuisine

I went here for a Saturday lunch with a group of 18 year olds and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. (Dinnertime would have been better to check out the restaurant's credentials as a New Orleans type jazz brasserie.) We sat at a large table in the middle of the restaurant and were easily... read more

We visited NOLA on a Saturday night around 10:30PM after a Pirates game. A live jazz band was playing and the place was packed. We asked the host for a table for two, however he couldn't hear us as the waiting area was close to the band. Fortunately, the main dining area was towards the back of the restaurant, thus... More

We were at the last night of a conference I attended in Pittsburgh. Everywhere I went, it was steak, potatoes, mashed potatoes, french-fried potatoes, more steak--you get it. And I'm a pescetarian trying to keep the weight off. We were looking around for a last-night choice, and I came upon this jewel in a setting of starch and fat. We... More

I love New Orleans. I really love the food, the attitude, the music, the drinks. I find that most restaurants that a claim to have a Cajun Creole food Louisiana style usually have horrible food. That was not the case for NOLA. We actually were drawn in because we heard the live jazz band. They were great. But so were... More

I visited NOLA for the first time last night for my mom's birthday! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. Will was our waiter and he was simply delightful. As first timers, he thoroughly explained the menu/specials and drinks! I immediately felt like he was pointing us in the right direction of menu choices! I had the... More

My Mother and I stumbled upon this place while searching out another. It has a nice bar with televisions for watching the NCAA Tournament games. The bartenders had great advice on the menu as well as being attentive to your requests.

My husband and I took our two college aged daughters to Nola for dinner. We had reservations at 7:15 but were not seated for a while after that. Once seated, we did not see a server for a long time. He finally arrived, told us a few things about the menu (but not the specials) then left without taking a... More

One of the best restaurants for pre-concert dining, given its proximity to Heinz Hall. Excellent fish served Cajun style, and other choices looked authentic and nearby diners seemed pleased with their choices. Attentive staff. Pleased to find seating for diners was relatively quiet in the back, given a very busy and raucous bar scene when you first enter the premises.... More

I recently had the pleasure of having a meal at Nola. I wasn't sure of what to expect but I had heard good things. Both the food and the drink impressed me. Everything was very flavorful. The alligator was actually quite tender and had a bit a spice to it and the pork tenderloin was well cooked and had a... More

It's a little slice of the bayou. We were seated in the back next to the kitchen which was both a blessing and a curse. We could see into the kitchen but it was very loud and we were tucked in the way back of the restaurant and were sometimes forgotten about. But the food was delicious! I had the... More
