Mother's Day Drunken Blueberries and Bourbon Ball

My son treated me to brunch on Mother's Day, the first visit for both of us. The service was was kind of slow, but very friendly and helpful. Not much seams to be open late in downtown PA. We stumbled in to Nola on our last night in town and had great service at the bar with Cassandra. The beer selection was great, my wife's hurricane was on point, and the gator tail & frog leg appetizers hit the spot. Cassandra even walked us out to the corner... More

Nice place to go with friendly staff. They have a changing selection of craft beers from the cask. The staff knows about the beers and is happy to give a small sample just for tasting. Recommended for the true beer lover.

This came highly recommended by friends who live in Pitt - so we paid a visit and were not disappointed. Interesting food and great Live Music. We will be back.

First time at Nola at lunch. Nice outdoor tables, Several which were open, no staff in sight. The four of us took a seat and were promptly scolded by the wait staff. Apparently we should have know to go inside and check first because one of the three open tables may have already been claimed...? Okay move on, the food... More

We visited NOLA on a Saturday night around 10:30PM after a Pirates game. A live jazz band was playing and the place was packed. We asked the host for a table for two, however he couldn't hear us as the waiting area was close to the band. Fortunately, the main dining area was towards the back of the restaurant, thus... More

We were at the last night of a conference I attended in Pittsburgh. Everywhere I went, it was steak, potatoes, mashed potatoes, french-fried potatoes, more steak--you get it. And I'm a pescetarian trying to keep the weight off. We were looking around for a last-night choice, and I came upon this jewel in a setting of starch and fat. We... More

I love New Orleans. I really love the food, the attitude, the music, the drinks. I find that most restaurants that a claim to have a Cajun Creole food Louisiana style usually have horrible food. That was not the case for NOLA. We actually were drawn in because we heard the live jazz band. They were great. But so were... More

I went here for a Saturday lunch with a group of 18 year olds and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. (Dinnertime would have been better to check out the restaurant's credentials as a New Orleans type jazz brasserie.) We sat at a large table in the middle of the restaurant and were easily able to converse and... More

I visited NOLA for the first time last night for my mom's birthday! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. Will was our waiter and he was simply delightful. As first timers, he thoroughly explained the menu/specials and drinks! I immediately felt like he was pointing us in the right direction of menu choices! I had the... More
