Happily Misled by the Name!

At first glance, I presumed that this restaurant may specialize in vegetarian cuisine. However, their menu includes a nice variety of meat and fish dishes. Not sure how the name "Legume" happened? Perhaps it's the Vegetarian three or five course meal with wine pairings (non-vegetarian versions of both are also available). We did not partake of either since the whole... More

This being Pittsburgh, our party of two was able to get a 7 pm reservation for the same night in the middle of the week. Parking is on-street or in a municipal lot on the end of the block, at Centre Street. The house cocktails were $12 and $10; not cheap, but very well done and very enjoyable. In fact,... More

This is a somewhat small restaurant with a sister restaurant attached that serves excellent food in a bar setting. The menu looks like it changes daily and limited BUT has enough offerings to please almost everyone. The apps for sharing are priced at $13 or so and plenty for 2-4 people. The chicken and steaks are good and a good... More

Excellent! The food, drinks, service, and decor were all perfect. Halibut and chicken were both phenomenal!

What can I say? Small menu that changes often. Pretty much farm to table concept. Meats, fish and chicken were wonderful. Sides and desserts were out of this world. Some of the best professional and friendly wait staff.

Our disappointment started from the moment we walked in. We had a 6:30 reservation and there was a sign taped to the door saying they were closing at 8 to prepare for renovations. A girl called the day before to confirm my reservation and failed to mention the early closing. The decor is lacking. Very minimal and boring. The crowd... More

After reading the prior reviews, we changed our reservation at another restaurant and opted to try Legume. We were quite disappointed. We found the decor and ambience to be basic, the dinner crowd dull, our waiter disinterested, the wine pours inadequate and the menu lacking in diversity. The walleye pike was bland and dry. In fairness, the steak was excellent... More

It was no problem to reserve a table via internet only 90 minutes before I wanted to dine. Friendly greeting and a very pleasant room. Range of dishes is not huge, and the menu seems to change often, both of which are often -- as here -- a good sign. The kitchen staff clearly know what they are doing. Though... More

I went here with some friends and had a very pleasant evening aided, no doubt, by the great atmosphere and delicious food on offer. The restaurant offers a slightly different take on the starter which is a selection of dishes that can be shared. We opted for the Pistachio and Pork Paté. A good choice. For the entrée, I ordered...
