The menu is so limited it is often difficult to find anything that anyone at the table wants to eat. They also run out of items frequently. The service is dreadful. Servers disappear for long periods. Our last visit was our last visit.

Menu entrees very limited - don't expect server to list any specials. Wine choices by the drink also too small. Nothing particularly outstanding in any dish our party had. Server was excellent though. Parking directly on street or across in parking garage was convenient. Cost of food way too high for the quantity/quality received. Other better choices in P'burgh.

Legume and the sister bar located next door were such a pleasant change from normal upscale american. The grilled-jerked calamari was excellent. Really excellent main dish with greens and South Carolina rice grits.

Read much on the latest "farm to table" movement and Legume is always mentioned, so decided to try. Went for lunch and was not disappointed. Simple is sometimes so much better than a complicated production and Legume seems to do simple right. Will definitely return.

A hair in my salad that was not mine.... fish was done nicely, but small portion. The presentation was graceful but the placement of the fish over the food accompaniments was almost like a mix-mashed matrix, making the separate favors hard to taste separately. We sat at a booth-type chair-bench and chairs with a table and the back of the... More

Legume is a foodie heaven. Fresh farm-to-table ingredients and main courses. Great Bar. The ever changing menu is at its best in the fall when the ever popular pork-belly salad emerges from its slumber. So good, we ordered another for desert!

We had a delicious dinner at this wonderful restaurant. The corn soup was delicious and the halibut was one of the best we've ever had. The ingredients were very fresh and the chef did an excellent job in cooking the halibut. The fresh baked (in house) bread was fantastic. Very few restaurants bake their own bread any more. We would... More

Had a superb meal here with a group of nine - and all of us left extremely happy. The setting is somewhat casual, but in a very sophisticated way. The food is the star - a changing menu that features fresh and carefully sourced seasonal ingredients. What is great about the dishes is their focus and deceptive simplicity. There are... More

One of my favorites in Pittsburgh. Consistently well-prepared food. Service is sometimes a little slow in the main dining room, but if you're looking for a more casual experience, the bar next door (Butterjoint) serves the full menu. Dessert is a must- get the chocolate cake or any of the fruit crisps.

Given the Trip Advisor reviews we decided to try this place which is in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. There was valet parking in garage across the street which was only $ 3.00 with validated ticket. Connected to the restaurant is nice bar area called Butterjoints. The actual restaurant is slightly contemporary in design but we really liked the fact... More
