The Fitz is located nest to the old canal that runs through the area . Its hidden away from the main roads and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The food is ok and the place gets hopping on Fridays and Saturdays ..during the week its more laid back and the happy hour specials revolve around... More

I am a frequent kayaker. I used to love this place! Decent food, decent prices, friendly service(although always a little slow). I hate reviews and I almost never write them. I write this more in hopes that the new owner checks and helps to better this establishment. They decided to try to get 'fancy' with their menu. Clearly the cooks... More

We are fairly frequent visitors to the Fitzwater in the summer as we kayak the loop there and either stop at the Fitz in the middle of the trek or at the end for beers and food. This place has gone downhill quickly in terms of service and qualified employees. The food is fine, we typically order sandwiches/burgers, and they... More

My wife would give it 2 stars, my kids would give it 3, and I would give it 4..... but I wouldn't give it 4 for the quality of the food, or the service.... That would be a 3 from me. But what I like is that they make some items that I have never seen locally before... such as... More

We drove over an hour to visit my son and take him out to lunch, enjoy the day. He suggested we try this place by the canal saying it looked very cute and they had an outdoor deck. It was such a beautiful day so we gave it a try. Never again.....We sat ourselves and waited for about 45 minutes... More

My Godson' 30th birthday.....we met him, his mom & her boyfriend for drinks & dinner there last Friday. Also a friend of my Godson's joined us - so it was a table for six.....on their outdoor deck. Business was slow when we arrived (now I know why). Service was SO unbelieveably slow, yet there were few patrons and the servers... More

I want to like this place. New owner/partners own other places of the same low quality type food and service. Went to meet friends, one beer (I think they brewed it while I waited). If you want slow this is the place to go!

Waited for a waitress or bartender who looked right at us for 20 mins to get a drink. As we were getting up to leave NIKI the second shift bartender came right through the door and seen we were displeased. She right then and there dropped her belongings and gave us much needed attention. From there on it was great.... More

After numerous very slow meals here I had decided to never go back but then I heard it was under new ownership so decided to give it a last chance. The location is great right by the canal and a group of us had paddled the Schuylkill and canal loop. We had a reservation and arrived right on time at... More

Food is okay, service is okay, beer is cold and the atmosphere is terrific! I actually like an olde school neighborhood bar, sometimes referred to as a dive. We actually took the canoe down the canal for lunch, but also it's a great bike destination, pedal and powered. Very nice outdoor deck along the canal. Nice quiet neighborhood. And for... More
