Always a treat!

Their ice cream is heaven! They also offer frozen yoghurt which is also very delicious. If I want to go for a treat in Newtown Sweet Pea is where I go!

With so many good ice cream shops in the area, I thought this place would be good as well, but they just didnt compare to Zebra, Daves Homemade, and Goodnoes.

25 flavors of honest to goodness home-made ice cream make Sweet Pea's treats something to look forward to. The owner changes up flavors and will actually create some by special requests as well. Tonight they had a smooth creamy pumpkin ice cream with whipped cream that was so good, I found myself going back for seconds. Sure there are Baskin... More

Nice selection of homemade ice cream, candy apples, some chocolate treats, etc. Roomy, upbeat atmosphere. The day we went, it was clear it was a local favorite for the town's teenagers. Prices were average and you ordered or paid at the counter, so no tip was required. We will definitely stop here again when we're in town!

Loved this place. It's a semi-old-time ice cream parlor with great homemade products are delicious. The servings are generous and reasonably priced. A sampler serving of three (not really) small scoops is available for those who really don't want to pick just one. They offer some seasonal flavors and apparently rotate available flavors. One reviewer noted that there is a... More

An ice cream parlor would have to do something abysmal to get less than 4 starts for me. It's ice cream. Sweet Pea is located in a shopping center with ample parking, which can be an advantage if you don't feel like dealing with Newtown Borough. Otherwise, I prefer Zebra Striped Whale. Either way, though, it's ice cream and you... More

I had a voucher for livingsocial so I went to check out the ice cream flavors. WOW. They had plenty to choose from and some seasonal ones as well. I had eggnog and gingerbread and both were flavorful and yummy. I also bought some gourmet jam but have not tried it. They offer coffee as well and the place is... More

Not enough indoor seating. Should maximize their indoor space.

The ice cream here is above average and they make nice candies. Other than that nothing special really.
