Some Things Are Just OK

We eat out a lot. I live in Bucks County, PA which is the mecca of dining out places to go. This was my first time to Florentino's and the menu looked fantastic. The place was immaculate and conveniently located on State Street in Newtown, PA. Parking in the back community lot was easy. It's a BYOB... read more

My wife and I dad dinner at Florentino's Saturday evening. We both just had entrees. My scallops over black pasta was excellent. I think six nice sized scallops very nicely seared over well cooked pasta. Mariann had a pretty nice shrimp scampi with shrimp that was a bit over done. Good bread and oil and BYOB is a plus. 60... We were expecting an upscale dinner but we were very disappointed. The Special that two of us wanted was not available so we decided on a "crispy" fish. The waiter guaranteed the correct presentation however the dish was not as described. It was also over garlic and very saucy. Although we were compensated with 2 desserts and coffee, the abruptness... More

The food at Florentino's is delicious. It is a BYOB restaurant. It's a small restaurant with not much atmosphere. If you go at dinner time on the weekend, it can be very noisy. I prefer going for lunch when there's not too many people there, and the food is just as amazing. I enjoy the Scallops Modena Salad and the Chicken... More

The fish specials and pasta dishes are delicious. I recommend the swordfish, you must be very careful not to eat the what they call Hawaiian Butterfish also known as escolar, trust me or google it yourself, it is banned in Japan due to side effects. The atmosphere is at first charming until you are seated almost shoulder to shoulder with... More

Went to lunch with two girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We took our time and didn't feel rushed. The service was excellent. The shrimp over linguine was delicious. My friends enjoyed the eggplant dish. Would highly recommend. I think I will also try it for dinner very soon.

This is the story that people dread... Out on date night to a place you hear decent things about. You go in for lunch mid-week and they seat you at a dirty table. It wouldn't be that big of a deal except there was NOBODY else in the restaurant. You undo your napkin and there is dirty silverware. Your significant... More

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Newtown. You have to make reservations because anyone who tries it once will be going back. I almost hate to tell you how good it is because I am afraid you will take my seat!! The space is small and the tables are tight but the food is wonderful. The menu includes pasta,... More

Simply great food, good service and not over-priced (don't understand why anyone would make that comment). I really like the intimacy of this place and it's great location right downtown. We don't get in here often enough, but always enjoy visiting here.

that reflects how quaint Newtown is. The Italian food is very good and the staff is very friendly. Prices are comparable to areas restaurants, but being able to bring your own wine makes this restaurant a good buy.
