So far so good

We had drinks and ate at the bar. It was our first time there and knew they had a bar menu so we figured if they got that right we would go from there. They had some large groups in that night and did warn us right away that there maybe a delay in food. We had there famous salad,... read more

My husband and I ate here this past weekend. Drinks: my husband and I are beer drinkers. While they did not have the beer we ordered (that was listed on their "Specials" menu, we were very pleased with the other selections they did have. Bread: the pre meal bread was a crusty Italian which I enjoyed a lot. I mean,... More

Macaluso's at the Lantern is an excellent restaurant that specializes in Italian dishes, but offers a great variety of dinner fare. They have been creating excellent--sometimes original and unique--dishes for over 20 years. It is literally a five-minute drive from Jim Thorpe, and I make it a point to get there at least a couple of times each year because... More

Had an early New Year's Eve dinner here. Everything from appetizer to dessert. The haddock was perfect and the stuffed pork was excelllent. The staff was very attentive even though every table was filled. Our server Darlene was great..explained everything on the menu and took great care. This was a very relaxed atmosphere and we did not feel rushed. Close... More

We have dined at Macaluso's a number of times. It is five minutes from Jim Thorpe right on 209 and 15 minutes from 309 and 54. The atmosphere is lovely with a nice bar and large separate dining room. It was Friday football night and Halloween so the place was not busy. On other visits we had great servers that... More

This was our second trip here. Our first visit was nearly 15 years ago when we realized we had a namesake in the mountains of Pennsylvania. We share the same last name as the owner Toni Marie and her passion for food is something we also share. We wish we lived closer than two hours away. The restaurant is bright, clean,... More

Our bartender, Lisa, was thoughtful and kind, and mixes a good drink. Our waitress Carla was quite personable and knowledgeable of the menu and specials. Good salads with house-made dressings. Excellent Carb Au Gratin and Chicken with Artichokes and Gorgonzola. We have never been disappointed here!

My husband and I went here for our 43 anniversary. We'd been there once before for their "Mushroom Specialties". That day the place was PACKED and we got to try many mushroom dishes .. oh MY .. it was INCREDIBLE! For our anniversary we started with Calamari, then had their Mushroom Soup (no words to describe its flavor!). We each... More

OK, nothing is perfect and I am probably a little biased as this is in my back-yard but I have had the good fortune to do a little traveling and get out of the back-yard and I have found some of the offerings here as good as they get. I have read some other reviews and got the sense that... More

Macaluso's is our go to restaurant when we want an exceptional meal with great service and a nice atmosphere. Last week the special appetizer was an eggplant cheese cake, it was fantastic, panko breadcrumbs and several cheeses with fresh tomato sauce, so yummy. I had veal, it was a thick piece of meat, not pounded thin, it was great. If... More
