Very Good Food, Service, Selections

I travel from Upstate NY to Southern PA frequently and use either the Hampton Inn or the Comfort Suites nearby as a half-way stopping point for the evening. When I do, I always make it a point to take the hotel shuttle to Doc Magrogan's to have dinner as I consider this place to be the best... read more

For some reason I went there for a third time! Never had anything very good! Maybe oysters are good but since I don't like them I tried the crab Avacdo tacos. There was less than 1 oz of Avacdo and the crab had no flavor. It could have been canned... For $16.00 I expected fresh lump!!!

I enjoy good food and don't mind paying for it. My selection of oysters at Doc's was well, quite simply a joke. I paid $2.60 for each of the six that I ordered. Three of the oysters were ok...and three should have never been served!!!...overall $24 for 6 oysters and 1 Guinness....not a great value....

Our group of four adults was spending the night in the Scranton area and this restaurant become one of our dinner contenders when perusing online reviews. Generally I am wary of eating seafood in landlocked states for fear that it will all be frozen but we heard that Doc Magrogan's has its seafood brought in fresh daily so we took... More

It is funny that people as my wife and I who live at Myrtle Beach, SC could be raving about a landlubber restaurant in the middle of Pennsylvania, but here we are. Tonight my wife and I had Sesame Ahi Tuna, and a seafood cioppino with drinks and a great tasting Calamari appetizer. Awesome !! It has been since we... More

Top notch from the time you are greeted at the door by the friendly hosting staff till the time YOU deside to depart. My husband and I drove over an hour to get there and it was well worth every minute on the highway. Our waitress was kind and imfomitive as well as patient with us and our two boys... More

I get to the area 4-5 times each year for business and go out of my way to dine here. The most recent visit started with oysters on the half shell and they were some of the best oysters I have ever had (alpine from PEI) and then went to a seafood entree salad that included salmon, crab, shrimp and...
