Stumbled onto Doc Magrogan's after a movie tonight and were very pleasantly surprised. This is the kind of restaurant more areas need more of - a seafood restaurant that is not a cookie cutter chain, has good atmosphere, good service and good food. There was an impressive menu of different kinds of oysters available (who knew there were so many??),... More

My wife and I were at Montage, Pa as we dropped our daughter off for an all day music festival. As there aren't a lot of dinning options close by we decided to dine at Doc Magrogan's. We first had drinks at the bar and an appetizer. The crab aracini was a risotto ball fried which was supposed to have... More

Would not recommend this place. While it may be fresh seafood in Moosic, we thought the pricing/value to be lacking. Soup seemed canned, only got 2 tacos with the dinner and fish was drenched in butter...while folks at the bar and eating oysters seemed really happy, for dinner, there are better options and would recommend skipping this one.

Considering the distance to the ocean, the seafood here isn't bad. Nice experience and friendly staffers. Good deals can be had with the specials.

My husband and I go to Doc's almost every Monday for dollar oyster night. We sit at the bar because our favorite bartenders work on Monday's (one just left :( ) The service is great! The food and drinks during happy hour are perfect sizes and priced. The dessert hasn't always been great and I really do wish that they... More

Hungry for oysters, we decided to try this Oyster House for lunch. Service was absolutely excellent! We asked for a fried oyster appetizer to share which was not on the menu and they were lightly fried, not crispy like we anticipated. My husband had the oyster stew which was excellent and an entree. Oysters on the half shell were small... More

Had the oysters. 3 varieties. kind of small but okay. I had the crabmeat stuffed shrimp. They were very small and there were only 4 so I was disappointed as the price was $24!!! And the flavor just was ordinary. Would not order again. Hubbie had the fish and chips which were okay. Daughter had a steak. Nothing that special.... More

Here we are in Scranton/Moosic, Pa., not exactly a seafood/culinary epicenter, having the most wonderful, fresh fresh fresh seafood dinner. The mussels were delicate and sublime and the crabcakes lusciously chock full of crabmeat. Wow..........we had a wonderful meal here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for fresh flavorful seafood. Definitely a cut above in quality and preparation.

Was expecting a little more than what it turned out to be. Service was good, food was just average. My meal: filet and shrimp. The shrimp (5) were medium/Large and had a good grilled taste. Filet was ordered medium rare, was more medium than rare and chewy. Side of fried potatoes was good. Don't do oysters so can't comment on... More
