its a very busy place, took us almost 30 mins to get a table. food is superb. we tried a couple of dishes and they were all good. service is fast and flawless. good value for money too. the only negative, you feel pressured because so many people are waiting.

As a resident of Pittsburgh, we like to explore different cuisines. Among Indian restaurants this WAS our choice other than Tamarind. Few times when we have visited this restaurant, the hospitality has always been terrible. The waiters there have no respect or patience to cater to their customers. It seemed to me that they take customers for granted because many... More

The varieties & taste of South Indian food one gets in this restaurant are outstanding. Some may find it spicy, but that is how real South Indian food should taste. The service is very well organized. Everytime I visit Monroeville,PA I do eat in Udipi Cafe.Waiting to get back there to eat again.

Though the place is small and from outside it looks shabby but its nice food and authentic south indian food. They also offer north indian food which is decent in taste. Its very much near to the balaji temple of pittsburgh.

While it looks like a highway truck stop outside and inside, the food served is very good. All vegetarian, the flavors are fresh and intense, as Indian food should be. The service was moody but prompt.

After hearing rave reviews from several different sources we decided that we needed to check out. Udipi. We randomly decided one night to check it out. As we pulled up, the parking lot was packed! Most of the tables inside were filled as well. Obviously lots of people really enjoy this restaurant. We sat down and ordered some drinks and... More

Located near the famous Sree Venkateswara temple, this has the blessing of the God and fills the aroma and taste of pure south Indian. I tasted the following delicacies and enjoyed ..cripy Methu vada with chutney and Sambar, Tomato soup. MASALA DOSAI, POORI, Vegetable curry. Staffs were very helpful and food reached very fast. I will highly recommend.

If you love flavorful, healthy food, this is the place for you. It is also completely vegetarian, but don't let that stop you if you like meat; the food is so tasty, you'll never miss it. And if you already like Indian food, you will be so pleased to find this hidden treasure.

I love this place. EVERY time I'm in the area, I make a point to eat there. Love the food. I now take a cooler with me, and order extras to bring home for the freezer. Good food, excellent prices.

If you want quality vegetarian food, Udipi is the place. True, it looks like a dump - a hole in the wall. However, it's clean, the poeple are nice, and they make the best poori. The specialize in dosas. It's true home-cooked food. It's not fancy, it's just good food.
