In town for Steel City Con, we pulled up to a nearly empty parking lot of a very sketchy looking restaurant in a rather industrial area...and then it hit us.....we opened our doors and the aromas of each and every spice and flavor that was about to tickle our tastebuds, took hold of our olfactory systems and we were.....GONE!!!!!!!!!! The... More

We came here because it had high rating and we haven't been to indian place in years. We ordered appetizer plate, rasam soup, Spring Dosai, uthappan and mango lassi. Rasam came first and it was terribly hot. i was able to eat only half with many breaks. Appetizer were interesting, mainly fried veggies in deep oil. Chutney (4 of them)... More

Those who love authentic South Indian food would enjoy the food served here. It is not too spicy so your palate and mouth wont burn. If you order the Andra dosa, then watch out for the hot flavor.

Best Indian food in Pittsburgh, hands down. The only complaint I have is there are not good descriptions in the vast menu, and unfortunately, the staff never seems to give the information you want to know. I have been there dozens of times and will definitely go back, it is easily the best Indian food in Pittsburgh, and some of... More

it is tucked away, it is humble, it is quiet but staff is helpful and the food is good! Sometimes after a long day all you are looking for is some comfort food or Indian version of breakfast all day this is a good place.

We stopped for lunch, I with a friend who has been here many times. She steered me on a perfect course with rava masala dosai.....so good! Pleasant, simple atmosphere, nice lunch crowd and pleasant service. I will return!

This place offers an authentically Indian experience. Most people who are used to some form of meat in their meal will be surprised by how much of delicious choice a vegetarian menu can offer. The best part is that you can try a variety of things for under $20. Their lunch express menu makes an already 'value-for-money' menu even more... More

I agree with most reviewers, this place looks pretty unobtrusive and doubtful from outside, but boy, the food is amazing! There are always lineups and people patiently waiting outside in droves, but its worth the wait. Their location is a winner because it is at the foot of the Balaji Temple, where hindu devotees come from all over N.America. Yes,... More

Walking into Udipi Cafe immediately transports you to Kashmir. We pulled off of the PA Turnpike seeking adventure and food that wasn't wrapped in paper or came in the box. To our surprise Monroeville has such wonderful India selections that the question becomes, what region in India. We chose Udipi because the reviews were passionate about this place. The passion...
