What a fun place to eat. The café is an old bank building that has been turned into a restaurant. I had the lobster mac and it was excellent. Portions are hug and the prices are fantastic. Service is very good and the staff go out of their way to insure you have a pleasant experience. Make this a must... More

Cute restaurant in a former bank. Vault still exposed. Lobster Mac and Cheese was awesome! Will definitely go again when in the area.

My hubs and I stopped by here on our way from Pittsburgh back to Philly. From the map I thought it was right off 76 but it turned out to be about 3 miles via route 283. Definitely worth the extra detour. We figured we'd have an early dinner (5ish) thus hopefully missing any rush hour traffic. Well upon our... More

The Brownstone Café had been a Bank for many years. Heartfelt preservation of a wonderful building has resulted in a wonderful dining experience in the Middletown area. We dined upstairs, just above the vault. The architecture is delightful. The place was crowded for 4pm on a Saturday. The wait staff were pleasant, prompt, and friendly. Our drinks were refilled before... More

This restaurant is in a former bank. Their food is always good, the portions are a nice size and the service has always been excellent. You will not be disappointed if you go to the Brownstone Café.

Good place for home style comfort food. My favorite is the chicken pie. Old bank building with the safe still visible. No alcohol, so truly family style. Always has great specials to choose from as well as a good mix of sandwiches and entrees on the regular menu. Not a very big waiting area, and always appears crowded, so plan... More

I've been to this restaurant twice now. Great menu choices, good service and fabulous food. We usually stop here after our trip to the CHAP homeschool conference in Harrisburg.

I just love the character of the place being inside of an old bank. The food is always hot and tasty. They have a lot of variety for a breakfast menu. The only thing I don't care for is the stick buns. It's more like a cinnamon roll served in a bowl filled with maple syrup but other than that... More

Passing through the area mid-afternoon, we stopped here for lunch and would love to visit again next time we're nearby. Thinking it was a re-purposed church, we found it was once a bank and much of the original grand style still exists. Everything about the atmosphere is charming and comfortable. Menu offerings are diverse and all looked interesting, including the... More
