My fiance' and I actually re-kindled a 25 year romance with our first date at The Railroad House, 6 years ago. Since then, we have shared our favorite little town of Marietta with many friends and family memebers. We were so disappointed when we showed up one weekend to find that the building was closed. Thank goodness Joey Bowden and... More

My friend took me here for my birthday one night - The food was so fresh and delicious as well as the atmosphere on the outside patio. It was so relaxing and had a show of many bright red cardinals, humming birds, and other backyard wildlife. The garden is so beautiful. I liked it so much, I brought my husband... More

My husband and I recently stopped into the Railroad House Inn for a weeknight dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. I was delighted that the entire menu was so seasonal. Fresh corn, tomatoes, crab... that's summer to me! I get so frustrated going to restaurants with sad little vegetables on the plate when you know what is actually available in... More

The Railroad House has reopened under new management and is simply awesome. The menu is simple but very delicious. We have tried almost everything and have not been disappointed. The patio is relaxing and the interior is impressive. They have a great beer and wine and drink menu. The bar is fun also!

We're from Lancaster, PA and drove over for a hike at Chiques Rock and then brunch at the Railroad House Inn. It was fantastic. The pancakes were perfect and the summer omelette delicious, with the unexpected surprise of fresh corn in it. You'd think it wouldn't work, but it was excellent, also with spinach and gruyere cheese. The potatoes with... More

Didn't realize that the Railroad House had reopened till the receptionist at the always busy McLeary's (1 1/2 hour wait without reservation) told us about it. Pleasantly surprised to hear that the old building is alive again. Small bar room upon entry with option to sit at outside patio or in their unique coal car inspired dining room. We chose... More

Unusual cuisine and impressive atmosphere. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. Make sure you order the roasted beet salad with goat cheese.

Our second visit to the Railroad House gave us the chance to take new friends. We were happy to meet Joey, a partner in the restaurant. Joey was skilled with explaining the cuisine and very personable, adding to our experience. Every suggestion he made was spot on and actually better than he described. One question we had on a side... More

Another old (built in 1840) building used as a restaurant that serves adjective food. Adjective food is that which appears on the menu that lists every ingredient on the plate. For example: smashed Idaho potato with warm, seasoned reduction of Spanish vintage sherry etc. etc. Each adjective costs several dollars. Forget the drink list. $8.00 for a cocktail in a... More

Dear Rocky- I wanted a chance to respond your review about our restaurant. We pride ourselves on using local and seasonal ingredients that are chemical free and treated humanely. The reason for the "adjectives" is because we want our customers to know where their food comes from and know that we support local business. The belief , that by knowing... More
