Former Greatness

The Buckeye Tavern WAS a great local place for my wife and I to get a meal and even great as my family grew in the early 1990's, but try as I might, we cannot find one entree (even sandwiches ) which are anything better than mediocre in the last 6-7 years. Beautiful place, but that's it. We cannot... read more

I heard a lot about the Buckeye from family that has been there. Didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I was expecting the usual sandwich fare, but was surprised by the wide variety of entrees. Had the special, Cuban Chicken. Very very good. Who would think about putting pickles on chicken, but it works. The atmosphere... More

I've been to the Buckeye numerous times over the years mostly for holiday parties, retirement parties, and more recently (and unfortunately) separation get togethers. There are some nice areas where groups can hang out with some privacy in a nice setting. The downsides to the place are starting to make me think we need to start looking at some of... More

The Buckeye Tavern is only a few miles from our home, we dine there semi-regularly. The menu has many choices from causal appetisers and sandwiches to steaks and crab. My wife loves their Crabmeat Imperial. Most of the Meals come with two sides which can include a house salad. Wing night night is every Tuesday, and they have other weekly... More

We stopped here for dinner when staying nearby for a weekend getaway. I had the stuffed shrimp and my husband got the prime rib. We felt the service was great, food was good and the atmosphere was welcoming and laid-back. It is your typical tavern atmosphere, but we enjoy that and had a good time. We would return if we... Our family has enjoyed dining at the Buckeye Tavern for many years. Since it is only a few miles from our home, we often dine there on a weekly basis. The menu is vast, and you can choose from causal fare up to and including steaks and crab. I absolutely love their Crabmeat Imperial. It has ample crab in a... More

The Buckeye always has what you want because of their extensive menu. We have visited this restaurant a number of times the have never been disappointed. However, they due tend to get business at times so expect to wait at times.
