I've been here on the way to Gettysburg several times, but this will be the last. The restaurant has gone badly downhill. The waitresses are still friendly yet professional, the restaurant is clean, but other than that there is not much good to say. My sandwich was extremely small, bread had a stale taste. The other diner had a greasy,... More

After shopping at the outlets, I took 3 friends to Hillcrest for lunch. Two of the ladies had satisfactory food. Nothing outstanding. My other friend and I had a chicken tender salad. The salad greens were nearly brown. Tomato was overripe. Chicken tenders were over cooked and not fresh made. At $9.99 for this discusting salad (which was served on... More

The owner's 2nd wife is now running Hillcrest, and everyone who could leave, has left. Including the ladies who made those wonderful desserts. What I remember being THE destination for years, is now a place to be avoided. Go 3 miles north & eat at Olivia's. It's MUCH better. And if you find yourself craving those deserts of yesterday, stop... More

We had a long day of travel, having just flown back from Florida. While on our way home from the airport we decided to stop at Hillcrest for dinner. It was about 7:45 and they only seat till 8:00 PM. I put that in because open is open, the last thing any restaurant should ever do is serve bad food... More

An old style restaurant that takes a 65+ year old like myself down memory lane. Average age of the patrons must have been at least my age if not older. Not many like this one left. Polite waitresses in uniform. Booths with formica tables. Lovely. Service was good and the food was served in a timely manner. Food was just... More

What has happened to Hillcrest? Three of us were in there for Breakfast today 4/ 5/13 at 8.30 am and there were only 3 cars in the parking lot. Our favorite Waitress Laury has left and all the others are new. The biggest suprise was when we went to pay, the bakery room was all but empty. They had 6... More

Completely tasteless and colorless food. Noisy. Coffee was bland too! Waitresses dressed like hospital orderlies. Gross!

Went to the Gettysburg outlets and decided to go here on the way home. They were packed but we did not have to wait for a table. Wife had liver & onions, taters w/gravy (they ask if you want beef or chicken gravy) and stewed tomatoes. I had t-bone steak (medium), taters w/beef gravy and stewed tomatoes. Only complaint was... We have eaten many delicious meals here over the years, and it's always been so good. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. The servers are so friendly (many have worked here for years) and get your food out quickly. The entire place is so clean, immaculate! Make sure you get a pie or some doughnuts and... More
